Your favourite faction?

What faction do you prefer playing with the most? All things considered: creatures, heroes, racial abilities, looks, etc...

Dungeon, even though I think Dark Elves (in the state they are in the game) don't do them justice.

If it HAD to be dark elves I would have liked them to be more in line with their D&D counterparts. Not necessarily black skinned, but more metal, spikes and less obvious sex appeal.

I like the dungeon play-wise, especially after the alternative upgrades were added, but dislike the tacky nudity of some units. The minotaurs and hydras should've been made faster, though, I hardly ever used them.

It's not an easy choice, but I think I'm going to go with the Necropolis. The creatures are nothing special (but cool looking, for the most part) to be honest, but what I really love is the dark energy and the hero's proficiency with dark (and summoning) magic. The ore and mercury costs are a ***** do deal with on impossible though!

Unlike previous parts I somehow cant pick one race that would be my favorite. Pretty much I like both elf factions, wizard and necro.
Dungeon is little squishy and unbalanced primary stats for their heroes for my likening. Necro faction bothers me with some units like ghosts, that are unnecessary forced upon player.
but dislike the tacky nudity of some units
Like NWC version of elves didn't had same disease.

Elves were nude in the NWC series? Or tacky?

If that along with their hooker voices isnt fanservice then I haven't seen one. Sure they look more decent with armor but for some reason males don't walk around with clothes bought in adult shop(and human females for that matter also). So pretty much throwing stones first and stuff , specially if someone offends homm5 in context of old parts. That is partial nudity for sole reason of partial nudity, there is no other reason period.
On a sidenote, what was actually dark elf idea in mm8? They had occasional spider motif to be something like D&D drow and somewhat tanned skin but that's where their "Dark" eflism pretty much ended...

Oh Might and Magic, never played it. Those are just as bad I guess.

Has anyone here done that? Though I agree with you it is otherwise highly annoying when people trash Ubi's games but turn a blind eye to some of the same inadequacies found in 3DO's games. And this does happen all too often.

Voted Inferno.

This is not based on strength or flexibility though.

Since we now know which factions will be in H6, I have added a poll just like this one in the H6 forum. Obviously, we don't know everything yet, so your votes wil be based on what we know so far. :)
In War: Resolution, In Defeat: Defiance, In Victory: Magnanimity, In Peace: Goodwill.

No, but if I should vote based on faction strength rather than "concept"/artwork, I wouldn't go with Inferno. Fortress or Haven would be prime candidates for "strongest" faction IMHO, though the game is fairly well balanced.

Sylvan is by far the quickest to become very strong

I can't believe so few people voted Academy. They're the most versatile of the bunch and very (thematically) appealing.

I don't think they are appealing at all. Granted their town screen and town music is nice but in terms of gameplay/units/abilities academy is my least favorite

Necropolis all the way. Classy folks with good force protection, if that's an appropriate way to describe it.

I prefer Inferno/demons, but Necropolis/Undead are a close second. The reason I go for Demons in their gating ability, at higher levels I've won battles with my demonlords entirely through gated units & archers. No other side can compare to that.

The only thing that sucks for demons is their lack of a second long range unit.

Academy, close followed by Sylvan and Stronghold.

Almost never play with Inferno (got bored playing the Campaign).

The Inferno campaign is really, really boring after the second mission. Third is (could be) OK, but not to able to use your REAL demon army for a mission or two really kills big part of the fun.
