Enter the dragon's mouth to gain access to the underground. Terrific scenery, and the graphics look good.

Unlike with H5 (if you'd play more games you'd have a better grasp of what current graphics are like) you guys do have a point about the graphics... they're pretty good for a TBS... though they might just be processed afterwards, as is the standard...

Still, even at lower res that would be pretty nice looking.

Just wonderful. I hope the game plays as good as this looks.

Truth be told there's nothing technically groundbreaking here to be post-processed. It's nice looking compared to the HoMM5 graphics, not that much compared to any current-gen game though (and it shouldn't, Heroes is not about graphics, other than artistically).
Infiltrator out.

Groundwhat now?! No one said that, i was just saying that hopefully it this isn't post-processed to take out jagged edges and pixelation...

As for the graphics, h5 had higher res WC3 graphics and was released 4 years later... this actually looks almost comparable to SC2 or Civ5.. you know, games that came out less then a year ago.

Dragon's mouth is the entrance. How does the exit look like?

Pierced from inside belly... the only way to exit a dragon.

Heh, clearly a nod at HoMM3.

You know, there is this thing called "anti-aliasing".

As i sad elsewhere, this game better be good.It looks so beautiful...

A bit worried about emptiness on adventure map...

Just remembered a location on screenshot with the human town.It looked like opened reptile's mouth and was guarded by griffins...
Also curious what is the creature guarding the treasuries at the bottom?...

In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert's mind, there are few...

The graphics look good although not that much different from H5's. But this isn't a big deal. I too agree that although the maps look good, they also look pretty empty. There's too much scenery and not so many points of interest. But this may just be the case for the screenshots.

Haha, do we really want to see that? =)

Anyway, the game is really looking nice. It adds a lot of feeling to the game. Let's hope the game balance is as nice as the graphics.

I'd say it's groundbreaking in terms of depth - I've never seen a game like this with so much verticality. It gives it a very different feel from the other Heroes games, certainly. I don't see any evidence of post-processing here - there's some clear (and easily removed) aliasing on the dragon's teeth. Which doesn't bother me at all - this looks fantastic.

You'd have to be kidding. What is more, it probably won't be like that in-game, this is just a screenshot. The same went for H5, you couldn't just look at the screen as horizontally as you'd have wished. Drawing distance is a *****.

Lets hope they implement drawing distance really well then.

hellegennes, - you missed my point. Obviously, in that, and other photos (I'm thinking of the one with the teleporter on top of the isoalted cliff peak in the ocean), there are Heroes on different planes. Even if it turns out not to be functional, that guy on the bridge is higher than the underground gate. Regardless, even if it's not playable, the art design with deep valleys and pools lends a much grander scale of depth to the world map aesthetically - I've never seen that done with such success. Oh, and how much different of an angle do you think the play camera will be? That's as top-down as H5 was. If you pulled it up much further that underground entrance would just look like a purple rock. The draw distance problem in H5 was bad coding, not a technical limitation - but draw distance isn't what I'm talking about, I was addressing the verticality of the world design.
