Same as Warhammer is popular so HoMM5 was "poor man's Warhammer"?

Millions of players think otherwise. And they're actually paying every frickin' month just to play it more (and more, and more...).

I wasn't talking about those shoulderpads, I was merely talking about the game itself (he said the game was also silly). Of course, people aren't playing it for those beauty pads.

However, it does give a legit reason for *cough* creative *cough* designers to copy off of WoW designs. Millions are playing it, therefore, WoW is cool, thus WoW designs MUST be cool for everyone to want them so bad. :disagree:

True, but that never was my point. My point was, it doesn't matter what he thinks about WoW (I don't like it either), or what you think about it (or Britney Spears, eww). Just as mentioned in the angry fan article in the other thread, the almighty game companies/developers already know what's best for us and they'll just drop new games on us with "features" they best see fit. WoW was a great success, so it's a no brainer they'll add stuff from it and tell fans "Look guys! We put WoW shoulder pads in this game! Isn't it cool? We love you all!". And if the fans don't like it, they can always bitch about "angry fans ruining their creative effort". I really, really don't like nor support this notion, but sadly that's the way of things nowadays. We (He, You, I) all miss our old HoMM more than anyone else, but with Johnny Cash (NWC) gone, now we're left to listen to pop music.

Well we could give him the Gnoll and Dread Knight, even if they're not exactly as bug as WoW's.

Why are we even debating this? Didn't HoMM go wrong once the ears of the elves started to grow so huge (a la WoW style)?

No, they weren't "too big" at all. They were pretty much perfect in their own style and scale. Better than anything in H5/H6 and sometimes better than even WoW elves.

Might have more to do with the fact that they're not as "droopy" as WoW ears, and of course disciples always had giant eared elves... unlike Heroes.

I have seen them all, and I really like the long ears, because I think the artist who did them pulled it off very well. The exaggerated ears give them a unique appearance and character without making them look ridiculous.

I'm not either; just that I dislike the elf ears; they're way to big. I'd like to imagine that they can fly with those :P
Grah!
