Like i mentioned before somewhere, without actually testing it who knows what effect those would have... we need to pester the devs to experiment themselves with these...
Agreed. Though mind that this will not leave the hypothetical stage. No way movement of units will be decreased when bf increases.
Like high school physics, i'm working under impossible in real life perfect conditions here.

I disagree. Exploits can be used in complex tactical ways. My gripe with exploits is that they limit the variety of tactics an experienced player uses.
The same effect that an unbalanced game has.
So can cheats...

And that's the problem with a balanced game too... they don't call it "rock-paper-scissors balance" for nothing.

I would sum it up as: You asked whether I thought H3 (with bigger bf) had more exploits than H5. I said no, because H3 didn't have the unlimited-attacking-hero. You seemed to recall an unlimited attacking hero in H3. I said that this was limited to spellpoints, so not unlimited. Then finally you asked what the hero in H3 did to influence combat after his spellpoints ran out.
No, what i said is that the hero being able to hit units forever is just 1 exploit... we got our wires crossed there i guess.

Also, that's an argument against unlimited attacks regardless of BF size.

Yes, I'm totally against the unlimited attack thing.
But the use of unlimited attacks ofcourse is directly linked to bf size.

Seemed to work fine on a small bf too...

Sure. You could left-click to attack on a small bf as well!
Umm.. I don't really see the point of that statement.

I meant as an exploit...

Do I really have to point out the obvious that unlimited attack has more effect on a larger bf than a smaller one? I'd say an exponentially increasing effect as bf size increases.

Expenontial it's not... i think you're refering to the fact that it's more likely that more units would be able to run circles around other units, but you can do that on a smaller BF too if you pick your movement points carefully...

We can argue about that, but as we already know which one of us has more experience with using exploits, I think I'll take my word for it :P

Well demolition people have a lot of experience with bringing buildings down, doesn't mean they understand the physics behind it better then a physicist... B-)

Right...
I wouldn't hire a physicist without field experience if I wanted a building demolished. I'm sure you wouldn't either :P

And if i wanted to demolish a building (win a game) i'd surely use the demoman... but if i wanted to engage in a scientific study of more efficient ways to use explosives (how to make the game work better) i'd use the science guy.

Can't the physicist and demo-guy just get along?

You see that a lot in management functions. Great theories, but no idea about what the people doing the work are actually doing. The results are always messy.
You need a combination of both to change things in a good way. I'm convinced that I possess a good combination of both, and you probably think the same of yourself. Which I would then laugh at and then you'd laugh back and we could spend a lot of time laughing at each other.

Which might be fun but won't get us anywhere. So let's end this.

That's why i used scientist... managers can do fine just by knowing how to use they people they run, with no need to understand what it is those people do.

That way of thinking is probably the biggest part of the problem in management.

Nah, more likely it's not listening to what the people you're running have to say.
