To Demo or Not to Demo?

Unread postby Angelspit » 11 Apr 2006, 20:06

On Thursday, the demo will be a nice opportunity to see how Heroes V has evolved during the past few months. However, some people might want to wait until the final release to avoid any spoiler.

What will you do?
I'm on Steam and Xbox Live.

I think I´ll wait for the final game and save the excitement, but if I decided to give it a small glimpse, I´m not going to touch in those campaign maps in any case! :D

Vote play the demo. It's Ubisoft's last chance to earn my business.

I'll probably wait to play the final...I don't want to get too excited or disappointed about the demo...

That's just it. I've played many good games that had crappy demo. I almost didn't buy heros 3 because the demo was rather poor; I had no idea how things worked. Oddly, many of my favorite games had really poor demos. Only demo that I thought that was good was SMAC. Hopefully Ubi puts out a demo with a good tutorial. For strategy games, demos without a good tutorial is pretty useless, IMO.

Oh, yeah, I'll definitely get the demo. I'll probably use the lab computer in my school to download them. I get consistantly 50-70mbits/sec. :hoo:

Play the Demo for sure. Always play the demo b4 planning to buy the real stuff. Also attempt to comfort Ubi since they have been suffering so much for the past few months. They deserve a good break!

Vote wait.

I've seen enough of the game to know that I will buy it.
Aside from that, playing 2 campaign maps without being able to continue seems frustrating ;)

I don't want to develope a "relationsship" with particular things in the game and then perhaps leaving others that are very good alone in the actual game....but of course: I would love to try. Just don't like the effort of downloading etc. :tired:

I played enough versions of the game not to feel the need to complicate myself with fileplanet and it's ilk.

Voted to play the demo. I haven't got a pre-release version and I want to know where's the game now first hand.

I'll probably play it, based on the size of the download. I've already busted my monthly bandwith limit more than once during the closed beta... :)

Ditto. I've had a brief glimpse at the beta, and wasn't impressed at all. I honestly hope I'll change my mind.

Hmm, Demo or not to demo...
Vote not to demolish.
But seriously folks, I'd play a demo once my pc was cool enough. Playing the Heroes II demo was how I got hooked in the first place.
