New, new info (29. Aug)

Unread postby Kilop » 29 Aug 2010, 07:40

Ok, this comes from "the archangel catle", who had some leaks from UBI , I am french so I ll translate parts... take a seat that's heavy stuff.

- 40 to 60 hours of gameplay (campaign wise)
- hotkeys available for combat / adventure
- no actions of the hero on the battlefield (like in H3)
- advanced classes
- area of effect for ranged units (is this really special ??)
- arena up to 50% bigger
- less actives capabilities for creatures (only one role for each creature : support, dps, tank, rusher)
- archers can go in the main tower
- offensive and defensive position (does that mean formations ??)
- capacities to shield from range
- no caravans (no need anymore)
- new rare ressource is called cristalized dragon blood (yup, they took all the rare ressources off ... bold )
- creatures buildings are illimited in the castle (wtf?) while there are to spots for up to 4 diferent unique buildings
- Blue phoenixes (cause they are linked to the moon, and blue ftw)
- a special ability for each faction, will charge during combat with 4 levels (exponenitally lethals)
- no more trolls lutins, gremlins, their SHOULD be dragons (duh)
- haven is tanky weak offense and lots of heals, capacity : guardian angel , gives immunity to a stack (including physical)
- necro : weak offense and defense , no moral debuf and long fights, dots, capacity : necromancy (resurect)
- inferno : strong offense, strong defense, low moral capacities ... PHASING
I support(ed?) Nival... flame on !!!

Some of whose features are a bit weird...

I'm pretty sure that an earlier official statement claimed otherwise.

I know, and be no actions, I guess they meant no physical presence, it is obvious that spells will still influence battles ... :)

I hope they at least keep the Hero presence like in HV - it was a HUGE improvement.

Otherwise "archers can go in the main tower" grabbed my attention. :applause: The (most of the) other stuff is kinda something I didn't want it to read...

I don't know what was so huge in H5 hero style? They did the same as in H3 just if they ran out of mana (or if you wanted that) they were able to attack, that's all.

Nice, a number of them were not available in public :)
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

Some of that sounds interesting, some less so. BTW what are Lutins?

My translation gave elf, gnome, goblin, imp, pixie, puck. That's more questions than an answer :?

Gating ;) I'd say the key news here is bigger battlefield, the new ranged mechanics and faction focus, rest were more or less known. Advanced classes are gonna be fun.

:lolu: And ore is now called dragon droppings?

Weird news i must say. Some sound fine and some as a measures to speed the game up/reduce micromanaging. Nothing very positive though.

In a way it is funny, many features are meant to speed up things while 2 of the revealed factions are meant for long battles. Personally I rather like it, some H5 factions could finish a battle within 2-3 rounds, sometimes even crippling the opponent in the very first charge. As long as the battles are not too slow :)

ok, checked it , sry didn t have much sleep last night phasing means GATING , i repeat GATING is in the game ... discuss :)

Oh, and I like the shorter duration of games, while battles last longer, waaaay to much useless macro in previous heroes ...

Blue Phoenixes? what are they smoking down there?

An inactive commander. At least in IV, the commander could do SOMETHING to make it's presence felt on the battlefield (besides spells).

I'm personaly all for commanders on the battlefield, but the stack system as it is now, makes that practicly impossible to balance.

What did that Vampire (?) Knight did to kill the Gryphin? And with all that sword swinging around... CHEESY.

I wonder why are phoenixes connected to Moon now? Unless it is a dark magic spell it makes little sense for a summoned creature. If it is in a town, what town is it and if it is neutral why is its connection with the Moon so important?

No much emotions for me. What catches eye is that there are some animations (like town conversion) which probably get annoying after the third time you have to watch them.

how can you not like the animation ? this is superb (that much sword swinging IS gay indeed), the details are nice, the arena looks cool.

3 time better than HV, now show me an archangel slaying properly a black dragon :)

+ vampire teleport, no lame flying around bat style
+ the music is great
