I've finisghed ME 2 twice; once whinging it, and once on Insanity completing every last bit of it. And I have no desire to play through it again. Am I supposed to?

Well, not really. Unless you want to check out the other classes, different choices, having different squaddies with you to get their funny one-liners etc.

I've played as Soldier, Infiltrator and Sentinel, liked them. Finished with the first two. The hardest difficulty I've tried is hardcore. Enjoyable though, heart Insanity really are insane, at least for the poor Adepts, they are kinda hampered against shielded enemies unless they use bonus skills or weapons (Geth Rifle).

Yeah, area biotics are no fun with all that shield and armour.

I played Infiltrator first, then Vanguard on Insanity. I really should have done it the other way round.

I started for 2nd time after 2 days of ended it! Couldn't resist.
First time I played it at Normal diff. (never played a ME game
before), now I am at around 20% of the game at Hardcore diff.
Combats are far more challenging now for sure.
I also added some download-able content for 1 extra NPC (with
1 extra story/mission), and I just read that at early April one more
will be added, so I am thinking to wait to add it too and then continue.
Also I read some rumors at ME forums that an expansion pack is on
plan....give more ME 2!! Is so good but so damn short!! :P

[brag]I started at hardcore, then did insanity.[/brag]

Insanity was too difficult to be too much fun, that's why I should have started with Infiltrator.

I'm playing the first Mass Effect for the first time and I must say I'm having a lot of fun. It's cool to have a RPG (even if it is heavily action-oriented) in a SF setting for once. For some reason it reminds me of an underrated game called Anachronox.

Just finished playing Overlord dlc for ME 2. I think it and Kasumi are the best dlcs so far for the game.

ME3 trailer: http://www.gametrailers.com/video/vga-1 ... ect/708363

Looks like we're finally gonna see Earth.

BTW, what's with biotic powers not working on shields (at all when it comes to team-mates) and armour for ME2... who decided that was a good idea?! Couldn't they just make it simply a 60% and 40% reduction in efficiency or something? I hate immunities in games.
every movie I've seen based on video game was terrible...
I liked Super Mario Bros. myself... of course at the time i had no idea it was a Mario film (didn't catch the beginning), i was all WTF when i found out...

GameTrailers chose Mass Effect 2 game of the year 2010, also pc and xbox 360 game of the year.

It is a well-deserved title IMO.

Also I should mention that Lair of the Shadow Broker is a must-have dlc for this game, it's just that good.

Meh, can't think of any better games, but it's way too shooter-y for me for GotY...

ME 3 is the game i w8 most tbh(after the MnM fun projects
ofc!). Well, I din't play all posible titles to know the game of
the year, but I think ME 2 past at my memory as one of
the best games (if u can forget the DLC parts, which are
freaky expensive for so short). Btw 2011: ME 3, Dragon Age 2,
TES 5, Deus Ex 3 and maybe Diablo 3 and some more I forget...
interesting gaming year imo.

Well ~10$ for Shadow Broker was about right, the mission might not be all that long but all the small extra stuff is very nice, and resetting your squad mates skills was sorely needed (considering how you can only max out 2 of the non loyalty powers by default except for Miranda and Jacob). And the boss fights where actually well done, especially the middle one.

Kasumi was way too short for 7$... and i'm against extra team mates in DLC anyway... especially pre-planned ones (locked ship parts from teh get go)... just smacks of nickel and dime-ing.

And they also screw up the story flow somewhat...

Released a while ago. Got it just recently, and while the story is interesting, the action... Yeah... Shoot bunch of mercs, move to the next room, repeat seemingly ad infinitum.

**LIGHT SPOILER**
Though I question the logic of launching an asteroid into a Mass Relay. It works with planets, like in Bring Down the Sky, but it shouldn't do so well against small objects. It should just gently push it away because it's just that big. I guess it can gain quite a bit of momentum in space, but it would be less like crashing an asteroid into a relay and more like crashing a relay on an asteroid.

It's a shooter-RPG hybrid, and the 2nd one kinda went 80% shooter, what else would you want it to be like? My personal issue was about how most of the powers where useless on insanity (poor Jack) or when shields where present where just a mediocre dmg source...

As for the SPOILERS... i found it funny how a rock, no matter the speed, was able to do something a supernova couldn't (remember the Mu Relay?). I mean, the drama of enforced genocide was the only reason why the impact didn't simply damage the relay enough to make it useless for a few decade until the self repair mechanism fixed it or something like that... (also, their plan was screwy, why not wait for the Reapers to be in the system and them blow it up, i mean they where cutting it close either way).
