No no, the knocking down stuff part sounds good, it's just that the rest of it looks pretty blah.

Aaand, if you buy it in my store, you get a little toy with it that looks like an agricultural crop-chopper-machine. Ain't that just...great?! :P

...so now Red Faction is a third person game...? is it me or is every damn new game catering to consoles these days?

But yeah, they are...

I played the RF: Guirilla demo... gotta say I really missed mining my way through the environment using explosive toys. If RFG had that along with this building smashing madness abilities it would be complete. Its no fun not being able to make a dent in a mountain range when you KNOWING RF is famous for the Geo Mod technology.

Hopefully if this does well the next one will have it... (but only if it's not on consoles, or they're already a new gen, coz old hardware might not be able to do it justice).

Just played the first few minutes of this... man does the destruction feel and look awesome... they need to start selling the tech to more people... and apply it to the ground too next time...

I wish Volition would do Freespace 3 rather than another Saints Row or Red Faction... :tired:

I got this game recently. It's a lot of fun, but also very frustrating. I would like to go around like The Incredibly Hulk, wrecking everything and not caring about the gnat-like soldiers, but... I can't! Whatever I do, a platoon of soldiers appears and forces me to escape as fast as possible. There's not enough room left to enjoy the mayhem. It's just "shoot some guys, immediately retreat to regenerate, repeat" or "destroy building, immediately hop into a car and escape to the safehouse".

That gets very frustrating at times, which is why I'm trying to find the least risky missions first now, simply because I want to enjoy the game rather than be forced to run all the time.

Note that I have just played Mass Effect 2 which does the hit and run strategy very well, which makes playing this directly afterwards very annoying.

I don't really care about the game itself really, the destructible environment tech is what needs to be replicated more.
