Heroes V Mini Game Launches

Unread postby Angelspit » 05 Apr 2006, 20:19

Ubisoft has a nice surprise for the fans today. Heroes Mini, a free web-based multiplayer game with creatures from the upcoming game has just launched. Players choose a town, adjust the number of creatures of each type and challenge other players. The site updates its rankings every minute.

Register an account, learn how to play and enter the battlefield. I'm sure you will see some familiar names there.

I'm on Steam and Xbox Live.

So let me get this straight. They've postponed Heroes V, yet they have time to make this thing? Brilliant!

It was developed by a third party, Themis Group, Inc., so it had no impact on the real game. It's all part of the marketing effort.

I lost my first game against TheLuckyDragon. I just sent a couple of armies at random, and they didn't do so well (but no losses unfortunately). I don't see myself playing this more than a few times.

I like!
I just challenged Aron_Dark to do battle and I expect to be defeated. But it seems that you must wait for the other person and this isn't so great because I want to play now.

The one thing I love from the "How to Play" section:
As no true commander would back down from a challenge, you should instead accept the opportunity to spill blood, and ready your orders!

This almost looks like it's a Fantasy Heroes game.

I notice that if you fight 1 angel vs 50 peasants, you'll never kill more than 1 peasant per battle -- in other words, you can only kill (your number) of units / round. I hope that's not in the real game or battles are going to take forever!!!

I got a guy who wanted to attack me and he is just sitting there. I can see his guys only, so I am guessing he has not done any thing yet. I get to sit all day waiting for him to do any thing. I bet he is tring to tier me up so he is tied up. I don't know why he just doesn't stay in town. I wish you could talk on that game to know why.
Let them think they are winning, when they find out they are losing, its too late.

Challenges theoretically expire, to quote the message I just saw:
To proceed with this battle, please begin your attack, or use the button above to retreat.

If you do not attack or retreat, this battle will expire within the next 10 minutes

I waited 20 minutes before some guy finally decided to fight me. I "Crushed" him.

It seems to be a bit too popular, the servers are majorly overloaded.

I can't get to the server... guess it's busy or down. It's probably a pretty smart way to keep the interest up until the release.

I've attacked a player quite a long time ago and it seems he is offline. I don't want to retreat, so I wonder how long would it take to either fight him or being "disconnected" and having my army free again.

:D
I just used the table in the lower left corner to see what's more powerful against what. But I think it'll get pretty boring too.

Heh, my first battle against Znork was a loss -_- bah!

I thought my Shadow Dragon and 2 Dark Riders would win against his beginnerlvl army (tier 1-3) but nooo....doesn't seem to bad that you can only defeat your own number of units, makes high lvl creatures not that overpowered.

I also thought that if the target died then the unit would attack the other units, but no! But the whole game becomes a big stalemate with experienced players since you want to fight battles where you counter out the enemy and retreat whenever somebody attacks you with counterunits....

I am still tied up in battle, its been over 14 hours now. How can this one guy have over 78 battles?

It's very unplayable. The severs are overloaded and the people just "statwhore" . Maybe if you work in an office it's a fun game otherwise i don't think so.
