Well, I think it's easier to beat the game like that (esp. when you play for the first time, you want to cut loses and SAVE MONEY (to buy runes later :D ). Of course, the Bosses are TOUGH to deal like that. I was battling the last one till 5:22 AM this morning (like ten + times!) cause I forgot to do a save before moving to Amelie's Greenwort and had to fight K'Tahu again (I waited to fight him at the very end... a tough SOB, had tons of problems with him as well). Good I had some "Song of the Wind" scrolls... and again beat him with some luck. I played as Paladin myself. Here's some screenies of what my hero looked like before the final battle:

Had to say this was the best army with which I could come up wit. Barely enough. :S

Those are some awesome stats! And congrats on beating it on impossible. :)

Couldn't be a culprit audio? Namely audio driver?

I tested KB:AB with ATI HD 4350 and it was ok too (Just reminding, my integrated graphic card is nvidia 9300, that is also running fine for hours.)

The game to crash because of the audio card? Is that really possible? 8|
Me video card is ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series (512 MB);

Audio card- Realtek ALC888/S/T @ nVIDIA MCP61 - High Definition Audio Controller
and Realtek ALC888/S/T @ Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio [1002-AA38] [NoDB].

Not sure which one should I point.

Which one of 4600? I remember them to be pretty picky about the drivers, some models are .. more than others.

If you have a classic realtec (which you indeed have) then forgot about it, just check if you have the right driver for 'ati hdmi audio' (for xp, the second one)

TT's post deleted as inappropriate, cluttering the topic and generally evil :devious: Remember this topic is reserved exclusively for KB:AB not for KB so also perhaps too funny dummy jokes.
Got the same card :D !
Good choice! :rofl:

They are really cheap, aren't they? Ideal HTPC card for occasional gaming pleasure. HD4550 was always to pricey, instead of it's easier to jump directly for 46xx or 5xsomething. ;)

I installed this driver, dunno if there's a change for good, but now I noticed the game/PC crashes at a certain battles (at a certain "time"?). If If I manage to run trough them quickly it MAY crash (shortly) after the battle, if not it may last... till the next one. :baby:

And by any chance isn't your card 4670 1GB?

As for sound, you can disable it (not in the game, better directly in the Device Manager) and see what it will cause.

There are some tools to measuring your graphic card, first one is

Please paste here a screenshot from.

@TT
Sure you did and I deleted it as inappropriate content. You don't even bother to read my comment? And btw I'm still tempted to do it again. :P

It writes only this: ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series, dunno if this will be of use: ATI Radeon Graphics Processor (0x9498).
I have Everest but am not sure where to look (usually my brother does this stuff :D ).

Then, you are likely to having this card.
> ATI Sapphire HD4650 512MB GDDR3

Armed with that information, you may try to go here, make your choices in the picking tree and reinstall everything 9.12 related yet again.

Some more interesting links, in the case that it wouldn't work
//BEWARE THEY MAY BE DANGEROUS//
Flashing bios for you card.

To save the bios. To update/reflash the bios with the new one. To edit the bios values.

Important quote
"You're welcome & I hope it works. IIRC there is a switch you need to use so it will ignore vendor/manufacturer."

I wasn't able to find out a newer bios for your card but if you will clock it down this one should fit. I think it's worth of a try*, anyway by flashing your card you're losing your warranty. (To be more specific, warranty can be renewed by flashing it back with your original bios, hence back up this one first :p, with exception of too wise cards)

*It's a bit older than your own.

PS There's mine:

Well having to drudge through all the tech data to see you also eventually addressed me isn't something i'll be doing very often... next time make sure when you address the next person in your post it's more noticeable, like you did in the one i just quoted.
