"Mature" is like the oldest attempt at a save for calling a girl old. You're lucky if it doesn't explode in your face ;)

Take the largest hardcover atlas you can find and open it up to South America or Zaire or something like that and plan a trip!

Not a bad idea. Although Zaïre doesn't exist anymore.. It's called Congo now, and Norwegians may not be the most popular folks down there at the moment...

But nah, I can't afford to go anywhere. Anyway, found something better to do; crank up a game. :)

Why aren't Norwegians popular in Congo?

I think two dudes were accused of being Norwegian government spies. They looked like complete dorks. Anyway, they were sentenced to death...but for some reason I can't remember, they're not dead.

I made some nice vanilla pancakes this evening...Mmm :yummy:

Yeah, the trial is moving up the system. I actually know one of them; went to high school with 'im. Anyway, corrupt country, totally messed up.

I feel like some proper pancakes with bacon and blueberry jam. :yummy:

Pancakes with Pecans for me!

But not for a few weeks. I've had a total sugar/carb overload for the holidays. Can't believe that I would ever say "I don't want any thing sweet!" But we do get tired of it now and then.

Now, if it weren't so frelling COLD - I might go back to the gym and start working all this endulgence off. But we've had a horrid cold spell. The temps have not gone above freezing in over a week. Totally to Cold for hot house plants like me.

Very cold here as well; chill records are looking to get broken all across the country. They're talking about -30°C here next week; sure hope my good ol' car keeps starting in the mornings. ;|

Dear Lord. -30 C is about -22 F. I just can't imagine functioning in such cold. We've been having temps 'dropping into the teens' - which means it's been about 17 F. That's -9 C. I've been happy MY car started. I wonder what kind of batter you use!

It's a cheap one. But usually it starts without problems, even on -20°C winter evenings. I don't want to risk draining the battery too much, though, over the coming weeks, so none of that heated seats nonsense on the way to work (which is only 3 miles away anyhow; the seats hardly get time to heat up).

Ten more minutes :oex: And then, sadly, ten more minutes to cool off...that's just annoying :disagree:

But: buns!!! :-D

January 2010... I never believed we'd reach the new year so fast. I wonder what in the world could make the time fly past us in such a high speed? Soon it'll be 2011 and the first year of the 2010's , then the notorious year 2012 will come rushin' in like there's no tomorrow, like a maniac turned lose and wielding a giant scythe, a psychopath in his dress of black, ushering in the dreaded end of times as we have known it on exactly Dec 21st that year. The horror! This is most dreaded news. And I can feel my nerves cracking up. *sigh* Oh how I do need a drink right now.

It wasn't too long ago when I was just a small boy living with his parents in a blissful ignorance of the outside world. And how it all changed.

"In my little town
I never meant nothin'
I was just my father's son
Saving my money
Dreaming of glory
Twitching like a finger
On the trigger of a gun..."

Kudos for Simon and Garfunkel for the nice tune. (My Little Town, 1975)
It summs up my thoughts pretty well. I'm so thrilled about the song, their vocal harmonies, Paul Simon's great poetry, his ironic sense of humor.
I guess I've recently grown to loathe my little village, the godforsaken place where I spent my childhood. I can feel the bitterness inside me.

"Nothing but the dead and dying
Back in my little town"

And cursed be the therapy I'm forced to go through for bringing back all those unhealed wounds and the numerous personal scars, nightmares that keep coming back. But on the other hand who will help me to heal my wounds if I turn away from the people who sincerely wish to help me in my hour of the wolf? And isn't he cursed from inside and outside who refuses to receieve A Little Help From his Friends? Like I said, I DO need a drink to ease the pain and perhaps it'll sooth my worried mind. *Sigh*

Oh how I truly could use a good vacation right now. All I got is a ticket to a cruise to Stockholm on Friday 8th of Jan '10 at 5pm. I guess it'll do. I shall do it like the rest of my fellow countrymen: drink to excess, talk nonesense to a group of strangers I meet for the very first time, gamble and lose half the money I carry with me and finally pass out back in the safety of my cabin's little toilet having been escorted there by my brother-in-law. Hooray. Kudos to him for bearing up with me. I know he undestands how I feel. No wonder I have this peculiar habit of desiring to give him a hug while mellowing deep in a state of absurditiness.

I need to change the scenery for just a little while. But I do wonder if going away even for a short time will ease the pain that I feel. Wouldn't I still be returning back home with me? As myself? I Me Mine?

Yurian
Don't worry if things are going badly today. They will be much worse tomorrow.
