[H5 ToE] Problem with opening map....

Unread postby ZanBon » 15 Jun 2009, 17:18

That's a new one...
While test-playing the map, it crashed when i tried entering a Subteranian Gate.Well, now the map won't open with the editor, getting me the "Can't load map, might be corupted"etc.
When opened with winrar it also tells me "unexpected end of archive"

Is the map gone forever?

Seems like that unfortunately.

You should make backups regularly to prevent such things in the future.
No matter how powerful one becomes, there is always someone stronger. That's why I'm in a constant pursuit of power, so I can be prepared when an enemy tries to take advantage of me.

Well, i still can't figure out how you can break a map by playing it...
Anyway, i will be more careful IF i ever use the editor again. :devious:

My guess is not that it was broken by playing, but was saved corrupt last time you saved it - and that's why probably it also crashed in game.

send me the map and I look into it....
another option U can try is goto your game folder /Editor/H5MMods and see if not your map still lays there... if it does well that may save ya... :)
(cause there U'll have a subfolder who contains all the files in your "real" map)
you may fix your map by copy all of this into your map...
BUT make backup of your map before U do....
I can try to help if U like me to....
