Heroes of Telara E3 Trailer
Heroes of Telara E3 Trailer
Trion World Networks released a trailer for Heroes of Telara (in both SD and HD), the fantasy MMO they will unveil at E3 next week. Trion is the company for which Jon Van Caneghem was the President and Chief Creative Officer until recently. Maybe that's just me, but the first part of the trailer reminds me of Heroes of Might and Magic V... but afterward we fall into Guild Wars territory.
The official Heroes of Telara Web site will launch on Monday, June 1st. Thanks to evilp for the link to the trailer.

Wow, this is great news...I'm making a little break from Guild Wars and WoW now, so this would be a fun game to play when it comes out...

So this is what JVC was working on before he left, eh? An automatic turn-off for several reasons. 1. It's an MMO. 2.It looks like super generic fantasy crap. 3. It is neither a Turn-Based Strategy game or First Person RPG.
Back from the dead? Maybe.

Heh, sounds like JVC ran at the first sign of the word 'heroes'. Could be coincidence, but its more funny to pretend its not.

Sadly, MMORPGs give me epic addictions...so I'm interested

Heroes of Telara E3 Trailer
Hmm... it's pretty. However, I am not sure it will get me off WoW, unless 1) it works on my year old PC 2) it sticks to or improves upon Ashan 3) it's good and not crap 4) it allows significant customisation of character appearance, not just hair/eye colour and 5) it has a good mechanics, especially with regards to spellcasting (the closer to D&D the better - that also means I don't like it more than the D&D MMO which I am giving a trial right now, to see if it can draw me away from WOW.)
Does anyone know if it will be based on Ashan (I doubt it'll be Erathia, and there's the possibility Telara will be some new world)? The elf looks a lot like a shadow matriarch, just without the big hair. I'd love to play a dark elven warlock in an MMO, especially with the kind of abilities they had in HoMM V.

Ah, I see now. I didn't notice that. Hrmmm perhaps I will steer entirely clear of it then unless it can at the minimum outdo Ashan (which isn't a high bar at all really.)

Play Warhammer Online then...Moragauth wrote: >>I'd love to play a dark elven warlock in an MMO, <<

How is this not an assumption that shouldn't even be mentioned because of it's obviousness?

Because I find WAR dull. As for the other criterion I really don't care how "obvious" it is, I will mention it regardless. Too many MMOs are a waste of time.
