UbiSoft Set To Reveal New Titles

Unread postby Kalah » 07 May 2009, 20:55

<img src="/https://www.celestialheavens.com/images ... _small.gif" align=left vspace=10 hspace=10>Today, on May 7th, UbiSoft <a href="/http://www.ubisoftgroup.com/index.php?p ... nounced</a> the date of their E3 press conference: June 1st at 5 pm (doors open at 4 pm), in the Los Angeles Theatre.

The press conference is by invitation only - to Ubisoft partners, investors, retailers and select media - but if you're sufficiently curious, you can view it online the following morning at http://www.ubi.com.

But now for the exciting bit: During the press conference, UbiSoft will unveil their game line-up for the Holiday 2009 and beyond. Skipping over the games we're not too interested in (Rabbids Go Home, Red Steel 2 and Assassin’s Creed 2), the press release also says they will announce <i>"other unannounced titles"</i>.

What does this mean? Can we hope for a bit of a Heroes VI tease at last? <i>Anything?</i> Or perhaps something related? Fingers crossed...

Of course there'll be something. Namely in the document's last page.

Since when did I become the entire community's head of rumour-monging? :disagree: :P

Yeah but if that's all after (what was it... 2 years?) so long... it's a little weak

they'll probably announce something soon (tm) :devious:

Yep, Heroes VI is certainly a possibility. Then again, Might and Magic X is also a possibility (that will never happen).
Back from the dead? Maybe.

You're pretty desperate for news items, aren't you Kalah? :)

So you're not speaking about the fan-made M&M X (not MMT, the other one)? If you are not, what should be Ubisoft's point in remaining silent about it? Fans looking forward to a new game in their favourite series can only be a good thing.

I would rather some developer spend at least 3-4 years making a really good game instead of a mediocre 1-2 year game. This happened before. Once the hint is revealed, I suspect it is all going down the bowl. Ubi Billions, that should be the name. And they should make a TV show, so we can laugh at their money.

The News of a M&M for a Nintendo handheld is a long year wish of me coming true. And I hope - you can hang me if you get me ;) - it is a round based tactical game (Heroes-style) and no M&M RPG.

I want to stress that the press release said "UNANNOUNCED titles". That could mean games we've already heard about being officially announced, but it could also mean talk about games we haven't heard of before.

We've always tried to dig up potential insider info. Sometimes it's just rumors and wishful thinking, but other times we end learning about a game even before it is announced.

That's strange because the report suggests the game might come out soon.

UbiSoft Set To Reveal New Titles

What about any NEW patches for H5 ToE? Ubi got us on that game. I suppose it is over now.... They could have improved the AI.

The "Elemental - War of Magic" Beta is scheduled for June. This game is similar to Heroes. It may have up to 12 factions and it is TBS. Does anyone else know of other new TBS games?

Seriously guys, seriously: I reckon UbiSoft are going to focus on the games that are forthcoming, and most notably their biggest titles. If there's no mention of HoMM 6 at this point, the reason is probably that they don't have anything to say. I can flat-out guarantee you that this would not mean that Ubi have decided not to continue the series. That's just not how business works.

Well hey, we waited four years for Heroes V to show up, and that was when there was no hope of future games thanks to dead publishers. I think the community can do it again. Also, Heroes V broke sales expectations as I recall, so no reason to throw the franchise aside.
