*hands Ethric a beer to shut him up*

Kalah, if I weren't half the world away I'd offer to help you drink that. :D And oh BTW, I tried some Jacob's Creek Merlot at a dinner party a while back. It was quite good actually. I was pleasantly surprised.

Yah, I actually think the Merlot is better than the other versions of that one.

By the way, when I first met Ethric, I suggested we go down to the student house "for a beer". He said he didn't drink beer, but he'd come along and have "a cider". :tongue:

And you thought Celine Dion was nice music to listen to.

I'll meet you in a quaffing-contest any day, on the one condition that you don't get to pick the music :tongue:

Don't worry, it's perfectly normal for a 6 year old child to listen to Celine Dion.

Too much cider, beer and long drinks combined shall earn you a long night of puking and passing out, this I guarentee. And of course one shall "enjoy" the company of Mr. Hang-Over for the rest of the following day. It took me to 6pm to just get out of bed. Alcohol infused goodness, indeed!

Tequila is far much better than that - French! stuff. ;)

Although a wine goes fine with pasta.

I'm drinking the last of a Yellow Tail shiraz. At $6.50 per bottle, it's my go-to brand for cooking and everyday drinking wine. It went great last night with the bacon-wrapped filets we had. :yummy:

@Kristo

Out of curiosity, I did some "investigating" on my own and found out that the state owned alcohol monopoly company of Finland, Alko, has Yellow Tail shiraz in their catalogue with a price tag 9,20 EUR which equals 12 USD. According to them, this South Eastern Aussie wine is at its best when served with a meal containing some of the following dishes: stew, pork, lamb and cheese. I'll see if I can get me some of the stuff and enjoy a good meal with my wife on the coming weekend.

Cheers,

Yurian

I've also had it with steak or roast beef. Any of those suggestions sound good to me. Let us know how you like it.

Pop quiz: what's the best part of cooking with wine? Drinking the leftovers of course. We had Woodbridge (by Robert Mondavi) Merlot tonight. I picked up a 4-pack of little 187 mL bottles for about $7 US at the grocery store recently. They're the perfect size for everyday cooking when you don't want to uncork a full bottle.
