Except the whole question was not considering creatures -- just special buildings. :)

As far as the Tower and its library goes, it's a bit too much of a resource investment for my taste.

And the most commonly forgotten special building is probably the Castle's Lighthouse.
Far too many people speak their minds without first verifying the quality of their source material.

Conflux - their grail building is godlike overpowered, and the Magic University is simply marvelous.

Although I don't play Conflux very often, I do agree that the Magic University is marvellous. I've always favored magic over might... :)

I cant believe fortress has so many votes. For me fortress and stronghold are the worst ones since they mainly help you only when you are defending that specific town. And the help aint that great either to be honest.

Considering look and feel, Dungeon is easily my choice. Its music theme is tremendous, first slowly unraveling and then quickly reaching the emotional apex (btw, Asilum's is even better). As for special buildings, they rock too. Some of the most twisted conceptions I ever saw is to flag only seventh level
dwellings, so that each of your Portals of Summoning would give you one red dragon each week. Neat, huh?

And the Rampart Treasury is,of course, good, but there is one small problem.
When you have lots of gold and several Treasuries, at the beginning of
a new week you may discover that your 'gazillion of gold' turned into 'minus gazillion of gold'! Naturally, you cannot buy anything anymore. :hoo:

I'd say Dungeon. It allows you to get out of the gate quicker, jumping a level or two when it pays the most dividend. Focusing on spell casting more than creatures, having the mana vortex is a big plus.

Visually, I like Fortress the best. But I trend toward offense rather than defense, and I don't like the limited spell output.

Voted Necropolis.

I usually favor the human factions, but the H3 Necropolis has a beautiful music theme, and I especially like the Necromancy skill, which makes keeping an army in the field much more manageable. Plus it has access to the skeleton converter, which effectively gets rid of those '37 dwarf stacks' that just get in the way most of the time, and makes good use of them. Shroud of darkness is also a feature I like, along with the lvl5 mage guild and shipyard.

Dungeon would have to be runner up. The creature portal and artifact merchants , as well as the atmosphere, make it an impressive town.
Happy Millenium!

i gave a vote to Dungeon cause of academy and mana vortex thing... very useful for the might heroes... but if the game comes to multiple castles then it must be inferno cause of the gates... basicaly inferno will win in this pole at least should of the sick bonus of teleportation among friendly infernos ^^
BH - is the name of the place where i work :)

They have an Artifact Merchant, if that's what you mean. If you mean a treasury that affects your income, that's a Rampart-exclusive.

Or a H2 Warlock castle exclusive, aptly called dungeon.
