Caradoc wrote:OK. Look at her right arm. You can see her hair in the gap between her arm and her body. But what is that black curve that seems to start on her chest and end at the bottom of her arm? It can't be her boob, because it does not connect to her body. And her other arm is bare at that area, so it's not part of her outfit. So it must be a (poorly) Photoshopped fake boob.
Are you talking about the left arm? Cause the right arm looks just fine to me. However, if you are referring to the left arm, I totally see what you mean ;) I don't think it's photoshopped though. I think her shirt i asymetrical. Also, if the photoshopper attempted to make her boobs bigger, he really should be fired as it wouldn't fit her original boobs (obvious boob perimeter can be seen in the bare spot of the "shirt"). I doubt anyone hired to fix up stars with Photoshop or similar programs would make such a huge mistake. Just my opinion :)
But just in case, I'll make a check on the internet :D

This is more than a simple aestethical question, this is almost philosophical...

*Wolfsburg's goggles on*
We have produced a society where beauty standarts are so alien that cannot be archieved by natural means anymore. Without photoshop no woman is good enough. Sylicone, peeling and streching is not good enough. The skin has to be glossy and no hair folicles can be visible. Scars and natural skin folds are A BIG no-no. Teeth have to be blinding white and the hair must reflect like a disco-floor.

That is what we are told beauty is all about. Television and magazines and specially Photoshop-freaks are happy about it.

So thats what we have become. Women-modders! Vanilla version is simply not good enough!

By the way, Borsuc brought some really nice material there. Beautiful japanese woman that was.

The strict beauty standards have always existed. Just look at the ancient greek statues: the people never looked like them. These very detailed works of art were representations of an ideal beauty, not the real person itself. The winners of the Olympics each got a statue to honor their victory: all looked the same. It wasn't important to capture the true looks of someone.
This tradition continued trough the ages (think of portraits), so we are not experiencing something new. Stars are representing ideals, so their images also have to reflect this.
The standards are not that alien. There are millions of hot girls out there, walking the streets, who are very close to it. Also, nobody expects a woman to look like a goddess.
Those who complain are usually below average women, who do not care much about their looks, thus worsening that state, but who want to have a good excuse.

P.S.

I don't care whether the Milla Kunis picture was photoshopped or not. She is still VERY hot.

A man always looks to the way a woman looks. That is how most PEOPLE in general judge others. Then you start to know them. I know I did when I saw my girlfriend for the first time. I was stoked, excited, overwhelmed, but at one point, she was sending me messages through a website and that's how we got to know each other...
You can either agree with me, or be wrong...

I understand your point Vel, and it was very nicely made too. But I don't think greek statues illustrate the present situation adequately. What you forgot to mention is that in ancient greece women were regarded as inferior creatures, and didn't have the right for education to start with. They were (when they made this far), the object of admiration because of their looks. During a time when body-veneration was broadly spread.

Apparently some things have'nt changed in this thousands of years, and some possibly got worse:
* I don't recall any cases of: anorexia nervosa, body dismorphic disorder, muscle dysmorphia (Adonis syndrom) being described by Hypocrates.
* I have difficulty picturing in ancient greece a woman being nationally ridiculed because she gained a few pounds since when she first posed for a statue.

"Women beauty standarts" is inevitably associated with submission since mankind can remember. And if we are taking an ancient example here, I think we should better take a look at the Kayan women (aka giraffe women): who have the ancient habit of using 3-5kg brass coils to distort their ribcages making their necks look longer (or dragonlike, according to some).

I can cope with that right away, an ancient secluded tradition. What I can't cope is Hollywood telling me what a beautiful woman should look like through all manipulatory means necessary, and throwing shit at her on the following day bacause some Papparazzis got pictures of a bit of fat on her hips while sunbathing.

We better pray that Mila Kunis won't get some extra 30 pounds on the following years, for I bet she will be forgotten as fast as she came up to this thread.

Actually I liked your post Wolfsburg it was very interesting, and I agree with it ;)
All humans do is to go to a place, bountiful of nature, and live there. Then the human multiplies and sucks all the wonders there. They move to the next. There is one thing that works the same way as that: a virus.

Time for another picture, I think... how about that Emmanuelle Chriqui?
She's pretty... *ahem* exotic. :hoo: Only problem is, she's one of those standard Hollywood hot chicks. Still... I wouldn't kick her out of my bed.

You are right, Kalah. She's the most gorgeous white square with a red X in it that I've ever seen!

Again, be careful with picture hotlinking, as we don't want red Xs or worse (grandma porn, for instance, not that such a thing ever happened here).
