Best creeping faction
Which factions do you think excel at creeping, which are average, and which are disadvantaged?

If you place them on the fourth tile from the left, they will be able to hit one enemy stack, regardless of how many there areKiOwA wrote:With tactics or +1 speed boots they can even reach shooters if properly aligned.
No matter how powerful one becomes, there is always someone stronger. That's why I'm in a constant pursuit of power, so I can be prepared when an enemy tries to take advantage of me.
Wow that's a handy tipAsheera wrote:If you place them on the fourth tile from the left, they will be able to hit one enemy stack, regardless of how many there areKiOwA wrote:With tactics or +1 speed boots they can even reach shooters if properly aligned.
On a side note, the AI just LOVES to target my furies. Sometimes putting them up front seems almost like a gamble...

I think patch 3.1 takes the edge off of Dungeon, what with the enemy moving about while your stalkers are invisible. But this faction remains one of the strongest at creeping nonetheless.
Necropolis I think has it quite easy with the availability of Raise dead and two tiers of creatures that can raise themselves or even others.
But I'm surprised that no one has mentioned Academy yet. I think that the combination of gargoyles, gremlin saboteurs and offensive spells with Mark of the wizard is just excellent.
So for me it's actually between Necropolis and Academy, and I think I'll vote for the wizards just because no one has yet (and they deserve it).

Dungeon and Necro are really good for the reasons mentioned.
If you're creeping a really strong group of monsters that you know you would normally lose some troops on no matter what you do, Inferno can possibly be the best just because of mass gating creatures in as bait. But in the average situation I'd say dungeon.

Pick Dungeon, Necropolis close second. I've not tried patch 3.1 but from first looks it seems the biggest change it makes is to force you to have more Stalkers - you can still hide vs. Ranged units, then use the first unretaliated attack + poison + forced melee range to dramatically lower their numbers. A bit weaker, but not much so.
Necropolis's Raise Dead / Lich Masters give them a huge edge as well; after a certain point they simply won't lose units.

I'm a hypocrite because I suggested that all life is sacred and should not be wasted without good reason.
Giving up the death cloud from archliches can be painful, though - imagine 5 small-sized stacks bunched together, with the first aid tent and ammo cart behind, and I chose the lich masters. DOH.

Stronghold With Haggash (My vote): Three Replay to tell you why
1) Versus Bear Riders, Day One
2) [url=http://www.mediafire.com/?jo5tkkg4toc]Day Two, Versus Obsidian Gargoyles
3) Day three, versus Squires
Otherwise: Dungeon without Doubt.

I played too much dungeon now it takes me forever to figure out the creeping trick for other factions Large units and slow walkers in this game is too easy to abuse against, especially with a terrain advantage. I wish there was a bot to do the job for me whenever I fight them, saves a lot of clicking.
