I'm glad Death Knights aren't buildable

Unread postby blizzardboy » 19 Jun 2008, 05:45

I'm really glad these guys can't be built at necropoli.

There was 1 death knight. 1. He got deadly strike and killed 135 peasants. It ended the game for me.

Can somebody explain deadly strike to me? I knew what it did in Heroes 3, but it obviously does something different in this game because I'm now terrified to melee them if that's what one death knight can do.

25% chance to halve the stack hit, remember the genies in H2?
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

I must be super lucky. To date, I have yet to be affected by this ability when I fight them.

Does not work with soldier's luck.

Yeah, this is exactly what they are like. A few of these guys can really cripple your opponents best troops. I agree in that they are better off as a neutral unit.

Wasn't it 10% back in HoMM II?

I think so but it's been too long to remember. Certainly did not trigger as much as in H5.

I've actually been affected by the HoMM II genie's ability far more often than the HoMM V death knight's. ;|

Actually, I thought it was 50% for the genie strike in homm 1 and 2...plus they can move the whole field unlike the slow death knights.

On the new RMG you can buy death knights. It's fun for single player.

Edit: nah, checked the manual it's 10% for genie strike in h2.
