How do I counter Haggash?

Unread postby blizzardboy » 19 May 2008, 02:53

As the Haven faction? Apart from running away? Advice please, I just got slaughtered by a 30 year old Russian male. Actually I don't even think "slaughtered" is an extreme enough word to describe how badly I was slaughtered. I was tempted to go to the doctors afterwards to make sure I didn't receive any STD's from the experience. That's how badly I was raped. It was like... out of nowhere the 30 year old Russian showed up on my doorstep and just completely raped my hero. Her centaurs, who take their turns like 5,000 times faster then my crossbowman, basically just machine gunned down my crossbowmen, then they proceeded to mow down the rest of my units. I had less of a chance winning the fight then a paralyzed fetus would against a nuclear aircraft carrier.

I have also experienced this sort of thing...

I usually play academy, and build troops first and fast
three stacks of genies can disable his shooters pretty easily
but for haven that's a problem, no real casters to hinder his army
when playing haven i always focus on war machines, leadership
and train up to a lot of archers

No offense but learn to play and know your enemy. The majority of people who play heroes online are around 25-30 from what I've seen.
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

Not to mention you could find a different opponent.

These aren't your everyday orc rabble. These are Russians. Their shields are broad and their armor thick.

Well, I guess I could always just pick a different faction or quit the game if I see a Russian playing Haggash. But I don't really look at that as a good counter.

What if I pass myself off as Russian and lose to you (will probably happen, I have only played against the AI), would your thirst for ummm...revenge, is it? be quenched?

What were the sizes of the armies at engagement? I have the feeling you were simply outplayed, and that you lost because you simply brought an inferior army to the fight (i.e. your opponent is a better player).

By the way, it makes no difference what race (as in Russian) your opponent is. Many of computer games' best players are Korean, but Koreans are also humans, and sure you can beat them. It doesn't matter if your opponent is a 30-year-old Russian or a Nobel Laureate or Barack Obama; on the battlefield you are all almost equal. Play to win against anyone, even if it's the world champion, and you'll see your results improve.
I'm a hypocrite because I suggested that all life is sacred and should not be wasted without good reason.
