Ken Levine Loves Heroes II

Unread postby Angelspit » 08 Apr 2008, 20:50

2K Boston Creative director and Bioshock creator Ken Levine put a favorite of the community in his list of the top five video games of all time at MSNBC:

Civilization IV, World of Warcraft, Heroes of Might and Magic 2, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Beyond Good and Evil

A little love from a celebrity of the gaming industry doesn't hurt.

Good taste, we need more people in game industry, like him.:) Bioshock wasn't a bad game too, although I could never finish it...

Too bad the screenshot at that site was from HEROES 4 not from Heroes 2. Dumb mistake.

I don't know who is he exactly, but he made good choices indeed.

H2 is the best HOMM game imo too (best game ever!), though I would have chosen Civilization II over IV.

Well, nice that he likes heroes 2, if only they didn't add a pic of heroes 4 :disagree:

I've played 3 out of his 5, and I've played Children of the Nile, which is quite close to Civ IV.

Wow. I'm amazed that there's someone else who holds my personal #1 and #2 favorite games in such high regard (HoMM II and Zelda: A Link to the Past, respectively).

Totally agree about Civ4; it's one of the best games ever. Still think Master of Orion 2 should be up there, as well as Championship Manager.
In War: Resolution, In Defeat: Defiance, In Victory: Magnanimity, In Peace: Goodwill.

HoMM2 was always my favorite of the series. It had that special charm that you don't see in many games today.

Now why wasn't Star Control 2 on the list??

How was it? That game didn't make history in any case.

@ soupnazii & AngelEyes :

Obviously he doesn't consider those two games his favourites.
I am back and ready to... ready to... post things.

@kalah

Agreed, MOO2 is one of the best PC games, ever.

@Corribus

Ever tried GalCiv2? A good alternative in the genre, with many good elements from MoO2, and some fascinating new ideas - the only game, where I could spend an hour with designing a ship.:D

Won't be a good idea, to create a fantasy strategy, where you can choose the equipment of your own army? Like elven archers in plate mail.:D

Woot, 2 of my favourite games on the list: Heroes and Civ. If StarCraft was there too this man would be my idol, lol.

The journalists screwed again - they put a H4 picture instead of H2 :D.
