Best level 2 spell

Hopefully, votes will be more evenly divided across several options on this one, because there are some awesome choices here. Vote away...

depends on the situation
as a necromancer raise dead is obviously stonger
though regenerate on a phoenix is unbeatable

I voted arcane crystal since it's so good with death cloud
treants are dendrosexual 0_o

Lightning Bolt. Stun is very usefull, well any chance to hammer the enemies turn is useful.

Arcane Crystal is another one. Cheap and annoying :D

A hard choice, so many good ones.. I'll go with regeneration but another could easily be in its place. Arcane crystal, lightning and wasp swarm are also favourites, as for cleansing it is a must vs dark though you may curse your luck if you get it instead of another good creeping spell early.
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

The choice is very much situational, and really though... I went with cleansing as it's always useful... My other favorites are wasp swarm, regeneration and decay...

Btw, is lightning's stun better than ice bolt's freeze?

How come?

If the freezing effects of Ice Bolt are better, coupled with the puny damage Lightning Bolt does with no proficiency, I can't imagine why anyone would vote for it.

I seem always to ignore the Master of Storms, as I prefer to always choose the Master of Ice - find it much more useful + Chain Lightning is too "random" when hits...

I don't mind the "randomness" factor as much as I mind that you can't / wouldn't want to use it against neutrals who never come in more than three stacks tops (except in those treasuries).

I don't know about the best but I like vulenerability.
as of yesterday I also like arcane crystal since casting it next to the enemy troops (melee) they will often attack it causing damage to themselves (AI only, naturally). I made 30 minotaurs and 10 hydras kill themselves that way while blocking their entrance to my castle :D

Lightning does a lot more damage with high spellpower so it's only fair that stun is weaker than freeze. Chain lightning I also consider pretty crappy and there are some good ice spells like circle of winter and deep freeze.

Well, considering that there are more spells and an area spell that freezes all targets I select master of ice much more often. It's definitely not fair to master of storms. I think they could make chain lightning to stun all targets at decreasing levels, and/or make it skip friendly units. This way it's not always useful given that there is the MS and FB...

Other thing is that "Stun" works familiar as "Freeze" :| I thought it was pushing the enemy units at least two times much more back on the bar, but I found it, it's pushes them the same (if not worst) like the Ice Bolt and Circle, which completely suxx :disagree:

Circle of Winter's freezing effect is evenly split between targets, so if you hit more than one unit with it then it does very little. Stunning lots of units may be a little unfair... But Master of Storms is definitely not worth picking at the moment, since the other two give access to so many special abilities.

I voted Wasp Swarm, you can stop a slow unit from ever moving with it...

There are quite a few great spells, here, but Raise Dead is my favorite of the bunch.

I think a big part of the love for Regen is that it makes a summoned Phoenix virtually immortal.

There are lots of good spells at level 2, though. I am also a big fan of Mass Decay. :-D
