You guys hear about Heath Ledger?! Man, i really hope the new Batman movie rocks, so at least he has a fitting tribute.

I've only heard very little of this new Batman movie. Is Christian Bale still playing Batman?

I don't know, I liked the guy. Well more as Bruce Wayne than batman but anyway :)
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

Michael Keaton is the only true Batman. :proud: The two first movies were by far the best (Tim Burton, baby!)

Val Kilmer did nothing for "Batman Forever" - he was OK, but contributed neither in a positive nor a negative direction. The movie was lifted by the performances of Jim Carrey and Tommy Lee Jones. The better the bad guys, the better the movie.

George Clooney was nothing short of a terrible Batman. Nor was he helped by a skilled ensemble of villains. Arnold and Uma delivered mediocre performances. As for his sidekicks Chris O'Donnell and Alicia Silverstone, the less said the better. Awful. 'nuff said. Probably why it took 8 years to make another movie.

I'll stretch to calling Bale an "acceptable" Batman. Like Kilmer, however, Bale doesn't really help. What really annoyed me about "Batman begins", however, was the lack of a proper villain. Amazingly talented actors like Gary Oldman were given parts they could do nothing with. Anybody could play Gordon, so why use of the best actors in the world? The film was expected to restore the Batman brand and sweep the rewards field, but was only nominated for one Oscar (Cinematography), which it failed to win.

Again, what makes a good Batman movie is the performance of the villains, and that's why I'm looking forward to this one. Ledger is expected to give us a whole new view of the term "method acting", and just as the previous Joker (Nicholson) was renowned for his ability to look crazy on screen, thus I believe the late Heathcliffe will demonstrate his ability. If things turn out the way I expect, the Batman brand will be back up and running at full steam with this one.

Yes while I liked batman begins it did not really grip me, it could have performed better. Now I certainly have more expectations, we'll see :)

But Kalah is right for once... if the villain is good enough then we can ignore cute Batman.

Watched Conan movies yesterday. Took longer than it should to watch them both, but I got bored, and started doing something else for a little bit, here and there. I didn't watch all of the ending of the second one, since I decided to do something else while it was still playing.

Seen Transformers recently - appallingly bad. Well, the robots were kinda cute and I even found some of the lowbrow humour amusing... ;|

Spiderman 3 - snoozefest

I agree about Spiderman 3. What a bore!
But Transformers?! Come on...it was spectacular :-D

My recent absolute "don't-watch" movies:
Half Nelson - cause it's about nothing really and then well...nothing happens and in the end, hey what do you know? NOTHING happens again.

Death at a Funeral - though I'm usually very fond of British humour this one just didn't cut it. It was so predictable even I got frustrated and I usually guess the plot pretty quickly but this was insanely predictable.
It races between really stuffed with action and absolutely bland. I was very disappointed

Yeah, and plot holes all over the place. Like, how does a paralyzed old geezer get himself up on the roof naked?

They're out with another Rambo movie now. Apparently it wasn't enough for Sly to leave the old Rocky carcase buried; he had to dig up the late Rambo too. There's another movie I'm not watching, not even for free.

The group I usually go with to watch movies on Saturday went to watch that. I decided to just go home instead.

YES. That's exactly what I thought when I walked out of the theater.

Ledger looks pretty creepy as the joker.

I'm tired of pure good guys always beating the evil as **** bad guys, and Liam Neeson's performance was just excellent.
