MM8: Which weapons choose for Dark Elf?

Unread postby Avonu » 11 Jan 2008, 17:47

So, can anyone help me choose right weapons for DE?
First of all, bow - Lightning Crossbow, Longseeker, Noblebone Bow or maybe Tournament Bow?

Next - what weapon for close combat? DE is now using two swords. But maybe sword and dagger will be better?
And which artifact weapons will be the best choose for DE?

Tournament Bow was for my Knight who already had huge armor class

Lightning Crossbow for my Dark Elf because it gives bonus to bow skill, translates to extra dmg for GM bow

Lightning Crossbow has only "swift" and no bonus for bow skill.

Well, in my humble opinion, the Noblebone Bow is by far the most powerful of these weapons; with the "Explosive Impact" enchantment. But be careful when using it indoors, as its explosive impact can injure your own party members if the enemy is too close.

It's true.
Not only explosive (unfortunally I have some bugs and bow lost it's "of carnage" enchantment) but also do the most damage from all these bows.
Bows (and also Fleetfingers) with bow skill seems do not work - no bonus from these items. :(
I have to test it on my other older version of MM8 (with have less bugs).

Yeah, "of carnage" bows tfw. Really handy if you want to clear out dungeons really easy, without dying. Enemies aren't that smart so they just get stuck behind a wall, just hold the a button and you win... :D
You can either agree with me, or be wrong...

Elf have many skills, so i dont want to waste points on weapons. Best thing i found already was combination of hammer and dagger.

If I may suggest (may be bit late).
While solo run usually had Noblebone Bow. Usable almost for all dungeons except Plan of Fire and Ravage Roaming, so necessary to have another bow as well (Longseeker is second best in my opinion).
Two swords are good. Combination of Terminus an sword with Vampiric ability is nice. Two daggers ((enchanted, vampiric) +Haste : is possible kill for example Air Elemental in one (or couple) turn (keeping finger on A, turn based mod).
