*Nothing* was officialy announced.
And even if the work on game has already started, it is still about 2 years away from release. So why, it cant be H6 ? And who said that it will differ fundamentally ?

Heroes VI in Development?

That's what I'm talking about.

An don't forget: A new M&M title (or a M&MX) is not 100% succes, while HoMM always means big money.

I'm sure it will be Heroes of Might and Magic VI, or Puzzle Quest: Challange of Might and Magic.:D

They're looking for an AI programmer. I'm speechless.
I'm on Steam and Xbox Live.

'Well, maybe because you're not a dungeon, but a dark elf fan.:)

I'm way too conservative about games. Dungeon without dragons would surely disappoint many of us.

What about mixing the old Fortress with the Dark Elves? The lizard riders and the hydras would surely fit. And poor minotaurs are already underpowered. In good old times they were huge, evil beasts. Now they're pitiful slaves...

I also miss gorgons, medusaes, and of course, rocs and behemots.:('

I like a) the dark elves and reptiles b) the spellcaster (in fact I love the Warlock :D.) I would hate for them to be mixed with Fortress. Totally hate it. As for minotaurs, I couldn't care less about them. If Nival decided to drop them I'd be thrilled. Dark elves and the reptiles are more than tough enough not to need such pitiful creatures. Maybe Nival could reintroduce the Swamp faction, and give them most of Dungeon's old creatures, including the Minotaur (or maybe simply the Dark elves could relocate to the swamps, and switch locations.) You can be sure Nival will be adding in a 9th (and maybe 10th) faction in, anyway.

BTW, for the dragons, I think they should be removed from every faction that has them, and exist as neutrals. I like dragons as well, but I'd like for something new this time.

Then you might want to close your eyes when you hire the lvl 6's...

I would like to see less source material ripped from Warhammer for the next installment. Was there nothing more imaginative than Dark Elves, who think practical battle attire consists of high heels and bikinis, to dwell in the Dungeon?

I probably just jinxed it. Better keep my eyes out for the Skaven.
And the chickens. Those damn chickens.

Why do people always whine about Dungeon? :) Let's consider every other unoriginal faction in the game first, beginning with Haven. As if the notion of a city consisting of an assortment of freaks (ie old Dungeon) is more original anyway (please, have a look at any D&D campaign setting...) I doubt anything new Nival will introduce will be original either.

I don't care what they do. Lost interest in the HoMM franschise so it doesn't matter to me....but what makes you think that Ubisoft will give them more time this time ?

So they lost their A.I programmer....

Well... nothing, really. Perhaps hope. But now Nival has a quite good base, to build on it something even better. Don't forget, that Heroes3 was based on Heroes2, which was based on Heroes1, which was based on King's Bounty.:) They still some code from KB in 1999...

Heroes4 was the first Heroes built up from zero. If NWC could create a Heroes5 based on Heroes4, well... But their hands were bound by 3DO.

Speaking of which, I wonder where Zoop has gone. I took that name from him like 6 years ago.

Taken that way there's no such thing as an original creature, it's either been done before or you just took a few creatures and combined them.

But the former dungeons are way more original then H5's Druchii town... they didn't just take a few creatures from various places in the setting, they took the whole faction from WH...

You only thought the hydra is level6, and the matriarch is level5. Cause deep inside, you know, this would be the correct order.:)

H5 Dungeon truly reminds me Warhammer dark elves. The Druchii also had witch elves, war hydras, black dragons (for the witch king, at least), assassins, and cold one knights ("lizard" riders). Oh, and they had pale white skin.

And Haven is like the Empire. They even planned bald priests with hammers.

Oh my, I'm talking again about Dungeon... I broke my promise.:)

Like I said, the hydra would make a good tier 7 if it were re-designed.

Anyway, if it is MM X, I hope it is not first person. I dislike first person RPGs.
