According to a press release on Nival's official site, the company's founder Sergey Orlovskiy has signed an agreement with Ener1 Group that returns Nival under his control, followed by an impending closure of the Los Angeles office and return of the Nival headquarters to Moscow.
Ener1 previously announced its acquisition of Nival on April 6, 2005, a week after the official announcement of Heroes V and Nival's involvement in it.

"It has developed many popular game series including Rage of Mages, Evil Islands, Etherlords, Blitzkrieg, Silent Storm and Heroes of Might and Magic V."
Funny how Heroes is listed last. How many of you have played "Rage of Mages" and "Evil Islands"?

I played Rage of Mages, but not for long lol.
Nival's best game, besides H5, is Etherlords 2

"Angelspit, Rage of Mages/Evil Islands where kinda popular in Europe, popular in a sense that many people have played/tried them, did they liked them?"
I'm from Hungary. I liked RoM. I still have it on one of my shelves.
"Funny how Heroes is listed last."
Because it was their last game. And RoM was the first from the listed games.

I've played all those listed and every one of them is very very good. Rage of Mages, for its time and for what the company was - one of the early Russian games developers to do big things, was an excellent game. It had a good story and good game mechanics which all resulted in it being a beloved game of Eastern Europe. Evil Islands, being a sequel to the RoM games improved significantly on the formula and had really rather snacky innovations (not least because it is one of the few games that does 'build your own weapon/armour/spell' well).
Etherlords, for those who enjoy a bit of Magic the Gathering was a pleasant game outing and for someone outside of it all quite engaging.
Blitzkrieg took Sudden Strike and made it more fun and user-friendly as well as very replayable.
Silent Storm took the turn-based action-point formula and ran with it adding things shiny and pleasant which made for a fun, challenging and cinematic game. In my opinion one of their best achievements and one that should not be missed out on people's playthrough lists.
And finally Heroes V which, despite my early dislike and a few very poor early moments, has become an excellent game since TotE.
Sure, none of those games were without flaws, and there were plenty of annoying things about them - but I would count them all a success.

I've played RoM demo some years ago, and though I liked it, I never got the whole game. Maybe I'll get curious someday and I'll search after it, along with Etherlord I & II.

RoM was good, i had german version of Evil Islands so didnt get far, Etherlords were good but somewhat repetitive, Silent storm was mediocre/average, and played H5 too.

Saw Rage of Mages on the bargain shelves of EB Games. Etherlords 2 is really good. It has very long replayability in multiplayer if you exclude pale cards and I would play it today.

Muszka, you better look long and hard then. It's difficult to find even on eBay.
