Tribes Video and Shots

Unread postby Angelspit » 14 Aug 2007, 19:55

The German site PCGames.de contains a small gameplay video (thanks Mystic Phoenix) of the Tribes of the East expansion. The resolution is very low and the voiceover is in German, but it's still nice to see the new expansion in action.

On the same site are a series of new screenshots (thanks Eternor). With brutes, blood and brawls, the new faction should be fun to play.

The cutscenes are MUCH, MUCH better :)

If ToE has less bugs then former games, then it might be one of better expansions ever released.
I am back and ready to... ready to... post things.

I had only considered the fact of it being one of the better(maybe best) heroes expansion, not in general :)
Smooth animations, I especially like the cyclopses and shamans.
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

The video looks great. I can't wait for this to come out. Hope there's a demo, seeing as it's stand-alone...

On this screenshot, what's the skill behind the description? I don't recognise the picture.

Thanks Elvin, sometimes the simplest answer is the best one.

'(Something) Voice'. Hope they tell us what the new hero abilities are soon...

I do hope that they go over the text a few times before they release it, since it seems to contain a number of errors. I do not want to see things like 'Powerfull Blow' (sic) in the full game. I also feel that the description of the Blood Rage ability needs some work.

Cutscenes look much improved, as do the model textures. They might have slightly bumped up the model detail as well. Glad to see a bunch of neutral units - H5 was missing something without them.

Besides looks however, I hope they add a good deal more adventure objects and get some good music in there while they're at it.

Death Nights, Mummies, Wolves and Phoenixes are neutral groups that come to mind in the current HOMM5 (HOF)

That pathetic excuse for a Phoenix was in the original as well. So were Death Knights. Unfortunately, four neutral units doesn't cut it.

Hopefully there'll be more neutral units this time around. HOF added a few more, but 8 (?) isn't many.

Perhaps if the neutral units also occassionally had weeks so random stacks of them appeared they'd make more of an effort? (plus I think I've only seen a Manticore twice)

The video had an angel with a neutral unit aura (instead of the haven one).

Still i'm a bit sceptical about the mixed neutral stacks and the hyped farm-razing ability of the orcs. They seem like special scripts appearing in the campaigns only. But otherwise TotE seems a good purchase(assuming it's for under 45€ here in Finland)
