I guess as a mage who invokes spells he would have to be at least somewhat intelligent.
Heroes II looks like a sheep
I know what you mean, its head is rather like a sheep's. Perhaps so it can infiltrate a herd of sheep and pick 'em off one by one...

It's quite interesting to note that for the first time (I think) HoMM I has the upper hand or at least shares the top spot with another installment. I must say that I really like the art of the first game, but often either HoMM 2 or 4 snatches the vote by a smidge.

Gotta go with the Heroes I Ogre for this one. That "bad boy" really knows how to swing a club. :-D

I voted H4 ogre mage. It's design and animations are awesome, and I have always liked shamanistic casters...

Too bad that it's one of the least used creatures in H4.

H1 was the most brute and fun of all - it looked and incorporated the ogre conception, imho.

H2 came for a second, H4 a third, H5 comes next (update the poll, someone! :-D ) and H4 was the worst, with that dress.

Heroes 3 ogre unupg. He looks pretty though and has a bloodstained club with him. Love it. The one from H1 looks like a big daddy. The rest are plain. H4 comes second.

I like H3 Ogre Mage. I think the look and equipments (skull club, mail armor, etc) are inspiring. H1 Ogre is 2nd choice, but if I look a little while longer, this one look more like a cave man than ogre (whatever ogre should look like :-D )

True, true. Equilibris really made the Heroes IV Ogre Magi a worthwhile creature to have in your army. Still, I like the Cyclops better, but before there was absolutely no reason at all to choose the Ogre Magi. Now with his new spell abilities, the H4 Ogre Magi should receive the "Most Improved Creature" of Equilibris. :-D

It's true the Cyclops is very close to a level 4 creature.

Thankfully, not my dad.

Glad the thread being about design and not abilities, or Heroes 4 units would start rising from the ashes.

I've always been a fan of the big, slow, dumb, non-goblinoid ogre so it's H1 all the way for me.

voted for the 1st one mainly cuz he's the only good one. all the other ones(except the 2nd one which looks like a cross between a man and a goat) look like goblins who have been working out lately and wasting time listening to the boring magic lectures

Voted for H3 Ogre Mage. It looks brutal but not too primitive, stylish but not overly so.
"Yes, but what about David Beckham and the magic mushroom?"

I'm baaaaaack!
