The Beta Firebird

"Here's the Firebird from the Heroes V beta. Now mod it with fire effects which the Phoenix has and it would be a much nicer Phoenix than the one now. It looks just amazing! And I can't understand why it got replaced." Thanks Orfinn.

It would be a much better phoenix...Nival insisting in being original(my @ass) anywhere isn't good. Draconic look just does not click.
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

Seconded. Hail Banjo!

Back on topic: So, has anyone made a mod to restore the feathers to the Phoenix?

To Jinno:

The beta treants looked like barrels that were glued to one another! If I didn't send Nival the death treat, those ugly barrels would still be there!
I am back and ready to... ready to... post things.

Like the tree-mantis look is so much better.
And the chickens. Those damn chickens.

Ummm...I find the current Phoenix better looking personally...It has that feeling of huge uncontrollable power while the beta one, even with fire effects doesn't seem as mythical.

I think the existing phoenix looks fine. What's all the fuss about? Seems to me to be another example of how fans are annoyed when a company does something different, even though they'd also be annoyed at the "lack of imagination" if they left it the same.

Personally, I like the new one a lot more. It's leaner, spikier, and, like Hulka said, more "uncontrollable" looking. The old one looks like an angry purple goose with a goatee.

I really like the Rainbow Bird, but I think that the Phoenix looks better. And It's not Nival insisting to be original. They were supposed to be level seven creatures for Sylvan. So frankly the Phoenix never changed.

Yes, those beta teants looked nice, but they were placeholders. Those treants were total copys from the older warhammer games. Just go back and look on the net. They're total duplicates. So to avoid a lawsuit, they replaced them. As for the Phoenix, I guess I'm one of the few that likes the new ones.

And jinno...LOVE the avatar. OOTS rules. I check it religiously along with Homestarrunner every day. :O)

I believe the lesson here is clear: don't ask them to change anything or they'll just make it worse. Would you people get it through your thick skullz already?

I don't particularly like either, but would go with the burning one in a pinch I reckon

It doesn't look ugly in the slightest it just does not feel like a phoenix.
