Should we start from scratch with evo threads after TotE are out?

No! It would cause less interest for they who alredy have voted etc

Yes! Why not? Then we get every creature involved including the new alts

Consern about the evolution threads!

Unread postby Orfinn » 18 Jun 2007, 17:56

Im a bit worried about the creature evolution threads. Since our dear devil is gone. How should we solve this? Should we start anew after the tribes Of The East expansion are realeased or should we continue as it is, Imo, its weird to suddenly adding new alternative upgs in the evo threads if the latter.
I would start from scratch, since most creature pics out there are updated and the creatures shine as much as possible, second new members here will get a shot in the voting :)

What do you guys think?

Would starting anew involve deleting all the old threads?

If yes, I'd second it.

The old ones tend to fade as the new ones are created.

I would simply start everysingle new evo thread as

Evolution '07: Sprites and Brownies (example)

I voted no, most of the H-V creatures did poorly, deserved or not, I don't see how Tribes will change anything.

I don't see any reason to restart until we get some H6 creatures. Come up with something else - hero progressions, perhaps?

Maybe I'll start a new Poll Thread … unless someone else does it first … :-D

Some interesting Polls might be:
  • - Resurrecting the old, long-forgotten "Most Beautiful Babes/Handsomest Hunks of HoMM"
    - Best/Worst Matched Love Interests Between Heroes Couples
    - Artifact Evolution
    - Spell Evolution
    - Skill Evolution
    - Power-Up Evolution
    - Best Loved Hero's Pets of Might & Magic
Just a few rambling thoughts … ;|

That shouldnt be a reason so that they cant be in the evo polls. IMO the H4 creatures looks worse....Seee! its a matter of opinion so I find that a weak excuse. Yes, some aint so good but so is it with every Homm game.

Nice ideas there HP ;)

How about castle/town evolution?

Indeed!!!

Excellent ideas

Ok how should we split evo threads then?
We could assign Matriarchs and Patriarchs for each kind possible.

Corribus - Town Evolution
Hodge Podge - "Most Beautiful Babes/Handsomest Hunks of HoMM"
Orfinn - H5 upg evolutions

One of each per week of these threads and/or something should keep this place alive ;)

whatt ya think abbot that?

:)

So would you like to take the job for THE babes and hunks part, HP?

Im gonna get straight to my first H5 upg evolution thread. I thought of bringing along the basic creatures too but...I think a duel between the upgrades would be sweeter B-)

*brakes down* or should i wait with my part since there MAY be a possibility for the new alternatives looks to change?

You missed the point entirely, it has nothing to do with your or my opinion, the fact is they are still H-V creatures for the most part just different coloring or perhaps new dress, but nothing so significant to restart all of those threads. Do I really care, no I'll vote in them as before, but you asked for opinions and that's mine. Nothing new + status quo = status quo.

Well I might take this on … So maybe … and that's just a maybe. :-D About 3 years ago, gravyluvr did the original Most Beautiful Babes of H4 and I did the original Most Handsomest Hunks of H4. They are probably parked somewhere in the RT Archives, but I couldn't find them with the search option.

What's wrong with these?

For the barbarians we'll have to wait for TotE. And we could of course also create a conflux evolution thread or a "dwarf town" evolution thread for the HoF thing.
