they look really good to me.

especially the lvl 1 alternative... they are so cute. Still, ability wise I think I will prefer the others...

But where are the stats and abilities?

I like the whole white-bearded looks for the dwarves. It suits them well, and looks great.

I'm still not too big on the dragon though. It looks waaaay too similiar to the Magma Dragon for me...

These are by far the best looking alternatives, imo.
I like the dragon as well. Wonder what's it called?
Where did you find it, evilp? What about the stats and abilities?

Since evilp can find things before anybody else, I was wondering if he can tell us something about haven? Can you? :D

I agree, this is the best looking upgrades I've seen, I'm so happy they're not purple or striped or anything.

Looks nice... but I haven't played with the original fortress yet. :)

Wow. Those upgrades are nice and polished. Too bad they are coming out after my article is due.
And the chickens. Those damn chickens.

Fortress
1) As long as defenders do not move, they receive five point addition to their defense.
2) Harpooners can shoot harpoon that in addition to standard damage can pull the attacked creature by one tile closer to the harpooner.
3) When bears attack, they can frighten the attacked creature and enemy creatures that stand nearby. Bear receives one point addition to his morale and ten percent gain to his health. The effect lasts for two turns.
4) Every time Bonecrusher deals damage, he will gain two point addition to his initiative and five point addition to his attack. This effect is active for two turns. When fighting with large creatures he will receive four point bonus to his attack and defense.
5) Priests – After death, their inner flame escapes and deals fire damage to every enemy in the surrounding tiles. Level of damage depends on the amount of priests in the dead stack.
6) One time per battle thanes can do standard damage multiplied by 1,2 to any creature and hang “Mark of fire” on them.
7) When the dragons attack, they leave a fire wall, that deals ten point damage for each dragon in the stack.
From the skill clarifications thread. Roughly translated of course, but we get:

Level 2: Harpooners
Level 4: Bonecrushers

Whether or not ill use these upgrades (i enjoy fortress) depends on the stats and costs.

Also, from that thread it was said that haven upgrades were renegades iirc. [/quote]

There's been a correction on the Bonecrushers. It's not when they deal damage, but receive damage.
And the chickens. Those damn chickens.

You can always revise it at that time. :)

Hey, unfair! I'll only mention the original ones! :D

Very good work, it's not just the beard swapping but also the armour and weapons that look good! Let's see if the abilities are as good as their looks ;)
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

I wonder if this new Warlord has an ice attack now. It sure looks like his hand is cold.

As for the new dragon, it looks like a hybrid of the Fire and Magma versions. I guess it's okay. Much better than that lousy Titan that all they did was put a green haze around the same model.

These are, by far, the best looking alternate upgrades. They should've stuck a beard on the Magma Dragon while they were at it :D .
