I would either pick Heroes III Shadow of Death or Disciples II Gold. They both have a lot of content with campaigns and maps with great replayability and map editors.

H4C with all the maps on CH, especial Vel's (i've been playing Draconic). Of course i'd get bored of it eventually...

Well, certainly not Heroes 5. I'd probably go with something like Warcraft or Battle for Middle Earth

Heroes III, but only if I can have WoG as well.

Otherwise it's one of the Civs (III or IV probably, as II is gettin' kind of old, and last time I played it actually I got pretty annoyed with its invisible "end of map" thing).

I have been playing Solitaire since the dawn of windows. I will find out whether it lasts a lifetime. If I never say different, assume I have played it to my dying day

The great thing about Civ IV is that it is so easy to mod. With only a simple text editor, you can customize most aspects of the game. And there is not just one, but many good map generators.

That's no game. That's a package of games and therefore illegal under the rules of this question. It would allow things like "Might and Magic complete", "Sierra Adventures from A to Z", "THe General Compendium" (a series with all Panzer General games plus Fantasy General and Star General), Mega Pak #x, and so on.

this is a tough question, I think maybe a FF, perhaps VII, or XII, maybe X .... a HIII or HII complete

but I think maybe UT2004 takes them all

I cannot make my mind up as to which game i would take, but i know it would have to be something that comes with a map editor + SDK.
