ScarlettP wrote:Feel free to donate your cast off computer to me. :D Mine was "Top of the line" in 1999. Came with the all NEW Window ME (Millenium Edition) and the hot new DR ram! Whoo hoo! All of which went down the tubes (because both ME and DR suck!) and now I can't upgrade my ram for less money than a new computer. *sigh*
Funny! I'm also an IT collector - If you look really close in that photo you will see the joystick to my Nintendo (I also have six different computers between laptops and desktops).

Plus... I procrastinate... so... it will likely be a few years before I get my desk all decked out like I mentioned before. My next logical purchase will be a new tower+2 FP Screens but since I have a 2006 laptop from work and the weather is turning sunny here, I think I'll wait until the fall to upgrade.

As for you computer situation... You can get very good computers for under a grand from either Dell Outlet (refurbed mostly) at http://outlet.us.dell.com or from HP or other manufactures... actually, those obnoxious green light specials on http://www.geeks.com/products.asp?cat=sys sometimes show promise.

that's too much on computers to me .... my desk is pretty simple compared to that .... lower level for sub-woofer and tower, mid level for L+R speakers and surround L+R, plus obligatory mouse, keyboard and monitor, upper level for centre speaker

Ah, I get it. So, maybe next time you will actually clean the mirror before you take a picture of yourself through it. :)
