I'm not much of a drinker, but I have been known to take a wee drop of 20 year old single malt scotch.

Two great domestic stouts. The latter is a milk stout. These types are kind of hard to find but they have a subtle creaminess that is hard to beat. Old Rasputin is an Imperial, but it's great. Drink at about the temperature you'd drink red wine (or just slightly colder) to really let the flavors mingle.

in most cases, I'd agree with you, stefan. But like a good cheese, a good stout served cold is ruined. The cold makes the flavor one dimensional, and limits the ability of your nose to get involved in the experience. :)
