Um, yes, current. And you are absolutely prohibited to post your all-time favourites. Or did the thread starter mean it vice versa? Feel free to puzzle about this important problem all day along :)

Okay, some CURRENT favorites.
I like Primal Scream's Riot City Blues album. This http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dA8GOhznvdI
is a cool song from it.

Iggy Pop is one of my all-time favorites. I've recently bought a box of 6 cds with old session tapes. If you are knew to Iggy (and the Stooges) and like punk or hardcore you want to listen to this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKYALsp-sIg
little piece (don't watch, just listen) from 1972.

The last two albums of Motörhead have really made an impression on me. From Inferno I really like In the Black and In the Year of the Wolf - which are not featured on the Tube - because of their killer chorusses. Kiss of Death is pretty cool as well; God Was Never On Your Side is a great song and there are some others I really like.

I've always been a fan of Black Sabbath (the Ozzy version). The guitar player, Tony Iommi, made two solo albums (more or less recently), one of it called simply Iommi, which I find just great. The album was made with a variety of different singers, for example Billy Corgan, Skin from the late Skunk Anansie, Ozzy himself, Billy Idol has a great comeback and many others including Henry Rollins. That last one is ineed featured on the Tube:

While for me not the best song of the album (that's probably the one Skin sings), it's quite good. Note that this is NOT a tribute album - it's a Tony Iommi album who simply let the songs sing by different voices.

Lastly, if you never listened to the Pixies do yourself a favor and do it. There are 1920 videos listed for the Pixies at the Tube and you can just pick any of them and listen.

That one's really good. I like the really fast pace and everything..
First one I heard was a rather suicidal, melancholic and depressive song called All for You. I loved it but it's not like the rest they've made. I love love LOVE Angels losing Sleep :-D
This minor magical charm captures the viewer's attention and distra... ooo, pretty...

Me too, even though I became familair with them only recently. They would certainly be in my top 10.

They were the first act I actually saw in a live concert - must have been in 1970, maybe 71. I had white noise in my ears and was half deaf for the next two days. It felt just great.

That would have been cool, I was only 8 or 9 then. I wasn't able to see Sabbath until the Dio era (1980), though have seen Ozzy quite a few times.

My favorites in no particular order

Sabbath (older stuff, but also the rest)
Michael Schenker (UFO, solo, etc.)
Jimi Hendrix
Deep Purple (Rainbow also)

The wife is into Country, I must be getting old cuz I can tolerate it and I almost like it ;)

Black Sabbath were a great band, some awesome music .... Ozzy's gone a bit troppo, but then he's never been that stable to start with IMO :)

I actually was stunned by the Reunion performance in 1999. The sound on that record/DVD is brillant. For everyone wanting to delve deep into some nostalgia I'd advise buying
the DVD The Last Supper AND
the double CD Reunion
both from 1999, both dealing with the same 2 reunion concerts; half of the songs in the DVD are half overlayed by interviews with the band - which is not too bad when you have the music as well to listen to (that's why I'd advise buying both) because they are pretty interesting.
However, the sound is simply great, make no mistake, and while Ozzy is moving on stage like a 60-year-old in bad condition his voice is still on top of things - THEN, at least; we'll see how his new album will be which is due this summer.

that's the funny thing about him, both his body and mind seem .... well, underwhelming, but the voice is still there
