I should check it sometime though his face as Bond somehow alienates me. Maybe it's just my idea.
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

Went to sleep instead of 300 today. I hate having classes so early in the morning.

I think so too. He pouts his mouth all the time! Looks so weird :|
But we just got the release packages for it today and I had to buy one. A deck of cards with pictures from the movie.
Nice and familiar to see Le Chiffre (aka. Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen) on the cards

And Daniel pouts his mouth on all of his cards :disagree:
This minor magical charm captures the viewer's attention and distra... ooo, pretty...

If a good job = he doesn't suck, and the movie is good, then yeah.

Watched that Quentin Tarantino-made CSI episode last night ("Grave Danger")... t'was quite good. Got it on DVD. Next up for some light entertainment is "The Lion in Winter". I might have to get the 1968 original as well...

Definitely a notch above the recent Brosnan entries, some of which were just dreadful (although, I don't think Brosnan made a bad bond - the screenplays were just terrible). I actually thought Daniel Craig made a great bond. He had an edginess to him, while at the same time was very suave. And he didn't play the part over the top. Pretty good take on the Bond character. Anyone else have an opinion on Craig as the new Bond?
I think it's the best Bond since Diamonds are Forever -- and probably the best movie of 2006 (I did not see Last King of Scotland). The prolonged chase scene at the beginning was somewhat overdone, but the pace afterward was pure Bond. Connery will always be the definitive 007, but Craig certainly mastered the role.

Yes I feel this way also. I really thought he was the best Bond since Connery. The character had more depth than many of the previous ones, though that may have something also to do with the writing. I have to say I was impressed and - for once - I cannot wait until the next Bond movie is released.

I finally managed to see 300 yesterday.

I don't get why so many people complained. Of course, those who expected a new LOTR were disappointed. But it was not even supposed to be sth like that.

I expected a combination of LOTR, Gladiator and Sin City. And that's exactly what I found. The fights and historical atmosphere from Gladiator, blended with some fantasy half-men creatures and beasts like in LOTR, and some artistic dark backgrounds and a narrated storyline from time to time like in Sin City.

Of course the big nipples on a couple of chicks were not really necessary - probably just a fetish of the director. Just like the Watchowski brothers having a fetish for lesbians - so much, that they have to put some in all of their movies (not only Bound or V for Vendetta, but even Matrix - for those who pay more attention to that not-really-but-almost orgious party in Matrix Reloaded). I'm judging this also by my wife's reactions (who is quite sensitive with this kind of things). Almost surprisingly she didn't really mind it in 300 - probably because it kinda fit with the atmospehere. In V for Vendetta on the other hand, the lesbian story in the middle was just breaking the story, did not really fit in the atmosphere of the movie and feld more like an excuse to have again some girls kissing each other in their movie.

What else is left? Acting... I don't know what people expected from a movie without a big cast (like LOTR and other blockbusters). I think the actors did a pretty good job, especially considering the fact that the movie is done after some comics, so the theatrical touch in their speaches did not spoil in any way the feeling, but quite the contrary.

Well they couldn't really take out the next door lesbian part from V for Vendetta, it was a pretty important plot point.

V's whole motivation was the lesbian next door. Maybe showing it in rather idyllic light right smack in the middle wasn't the best movie making decision (the contrast didn't work that well 4 me either), but they couldn't take it out (they cut out enough already anyway).

It's a classic. :)
Veldryn 15:15 And Vel found a dirty old jawbone of a walrus and put forth his hand, and took it, and in his unholy rage, he slew thirty four thousand men and children therewith.
