Patch 2.1 - Rune magic bugged?

Patch 2.1 - Rune magic bugged?

Just finished the Fortress campaign. Strangely, throughout the 5 missions I was only given the chance to cast Charge and Magic Immunity. I've learned all other rune magics, but the screen always says they are "used".

But I never used them.

I wonder anyone has experienced the same thing? Thanks.

yep its definetly bugged in 2.1 , only im wondering how on hell do they make things bugged with patches? :mad:

from previous experiences theyll definetly touch something thats workin fine atm . tho we can always hope :S

...No doubt. At least I finished the campaigns with 2.0 and got a good taste of the runes. Do they even test the patches?
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

I don't think so (I got so enraged that I made an interview over at my news thread :D)...

It is honestly very, very irritating when new bugs appear like that...

I'll try to refrain :D (even though ThunderTitan said they had cookies over at the darkside :rofl:).

I must stay on the light side (keep the Force in balance and all :-D)

I just hope Nival changes it's "patching eternal" ways soon...for it's own good!

They won't change now. That would mean to make an amazing effort and so far they do mediocre in more time than is required. Plus to do that they would have to get a higher budget from ubi and that's even more unlikely seeing their policy so far.

I dont seem to have this problem in 2.1.....

Some of the other non charge/magic immunity/dracoform runes require some conditions to be met though (dispel, berzerk, resurrection).....so maybe thats the issue?

Mind you, if you have rune of charge you're fine (If you didn't well thats a severe depowering)

i had the same problem and plus i have no rune spells when i build runic shrinre/temple

What version of HoF do you have, darkpriest?

If it's 2.0, then there may be a conflict with the map; trying to play an original version map with the Dwarves.

As I and I'm sure a lot of others (I personally know 8 people) don't have any problem with rune magic since 2.1, I wonder if there's a problem with installation/configuration to those that do... That being the case it's difficult to see how Nival could possbly test for problems that have, owing to huge number of both hardware and os configurations, inconsistancies from one computer to the next. Whilist Nival are fair game to across the board bugs, (of which this topic isn't) wouldn't it somewhat unfair to point the finger in view of the points I made above?????

To those who play custom made maps, the fact that you can build Rune Shrines but not get any runes from them means that the map was NOT made for HOF. They were either made pre HOF or the authors didn't enable rune magic... Simple solution is to open a map with the HOF editor, enable rune magic along with the spells and then re-save it...

Ok maybe they are not to be blamed-highly doubtful due to all else i've seen.
Then they should release a mini-patch within 2 weeks so that people won't wait for 2 or more months before playing with runes again. Too hard to do?
I don't care if they have many versions, they should do something if they were serious in what they do.

well i finished 4 mission so far, and the last one i'll leave till they fix it so i can blast some other runes except the 2 i've been using :)

hope it will come sooner than later...
