Reasons why it's worth to be a PC gamer

Unread postby MistWeaver » 26 Dec 2006, 22:40

I remember someone here mentioned that PC gaming is dying (again). Well, that definitely will not happen in 2007. Watch the list:

Before you criticize someone, first walk a mile in their shoes. If they get mad, you'll be a mile away. And you'll have their shoes.

These days PC gaming is getting way off the charts in terms of price
A good computer that will last a few years can cost 3000+ in Singapore dollars(I live in Brunei btw)

I am still sticking to my 5 or 6 year old computer(which is quite sad actually) :(

Pretty many games, but I'll like maximum 10 anyway. Can delete all adventure ones right away.

I agree with you Chai26. It gets too expensive to keep upgrading computer technology, which becomes out-date in a few months. That's the major reason I stick with consoles.

Or you could just play new games at low settings. Should look about as good as the console versions.

This list seems pretty good but I can't be sure for anything today.
I was happy thought to see so many single-player RPGs on 1 single
year(i feared that these damn mmos will take wverything :P). It was
also good to see few turn-based realeases too(my favorite combat style
to all rpgs). But from few words and screenshots you can't be sure about
the quality of a game.

About the cost to keep an upgraded pc and the price of games, and
the cost to create a game, and about the money that earn from the
gamers/victims the gaming industry are all known to us . It is known
to all now that computer gaming is just a part of the industry and not
this special form of art that we met many years ago...

And after all of this time...you still have to ask? :devious:

I hope they make Master of Magic 2 and Fallout 3 though (won't happen this year...that's for sure).

The thing is that Bethesda has kept the production of Fallout 3 behind closed doors. So, it's hard to tell whether they're sitting on the license or actually working on it. :(

Well, apparently the game uses the same engine as Oblivion, so I imagine they have been working on it for some time.

Seems like I'll finally play a fallout game....

About Master of Magic 2....Stardock (who wanted to do Master of Magic 2) is working on an unannounced fantasy TBS which might be a "spiritual successor" to Master of Magic just like Supreme Commander is to Total Annihilation. That is what I hope for and logic says that's what they're doing since it would be alot easier than to design a whole new system.

I just certainly hope they're focusing on a spriritual successor to MoM and not a GalCiv 2 in a fantasy world. No tactical combat = nono.
