I can understand that and I'm still in favour of multiple races together.Still I can't say I hate sylvan or haven for that.Maybe I have become used to that being a fan of AoW.
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

See, that i don't get. I'm a fan of plenty of games with racial unity, and that only makes this worse, as i liked how Heroes was different in that regard, and it was pretty much the only one i can recall atm. But i guess unique = bad. :disagree:

Haven/Castle/Knight has always been a faction with almost only human units. Now there are two factions of that type, so I don't see a problem. As long as the next factions includes some real beasts...

HII knight was only humans. And that wasnt a problem because it was the only one race faction. Now it became extremelly boring, and fortress has more dwarves than haven has humans(6 compared with 5).

One bad thing doesn not justify another.

And i'll bet the next faction includes at least 3 of the same creature + one that looks strikingly similar. :devious:

Yes, I have finished the game.
And yes, the fact that they all are fat males with beards is bad variety. I don't care if they got different abilities.
Since I'm a human, I'm superficial by nature. I want them to LOOK different.

Hehe, so true. To sum it up, it's real important to have differences in both appearances and abilities.

I second that. :victory:
If they make them might-oriented, maybe they should allow you to get the units at lower town levels?
Like the level 7 unit at Town Level 12 for example.

Here's my own suggestion for a Stronghold town:

The orcs of Ranaar:
After a long flight from the Wizard cities the orcish tribes finally settled on the large steppes of Ranaar. They assumed a primitive nomadic lifestyle and came to be known as savages or barbarians by all other races.

Troops:
1. Goblin - Hobgoblin
A small melee unit only useful in large numbers. The goblins are servants of the orcs. The Hobgoblin is just a little stronger than the goblin.

2.Orc Warrior- Orc Archer
The great warrior class is the most respected calss in the orcish society. the warriors are well respected fighters. the orc archers have a long ranged attack, but have a limited amount of arrows.

3.Warg Rider- Warg Nomad
The wargs are not normal wolves, but a much larger breed. The bond between the warg and the rider is unique. The riders live a nomadic life and are only gathered in time of war.

4.Troll- Berserk Troll
The trolls are an old ally of the orcs. They work as the Tank units of the stronghold, and their use is to throw them right in to the battle. They are extremely strong and tough. Very useful.

5.Shaman- War Shaman
The shamans are mostly elder orcs who has left their carreer of warriors to study the magic powers of the wind. However their spellknowledge are quite weak. The War Shamans have a useful long ranged attack though.

6.Roc- Thunderbird.
The large birds of Ranaan have lived in the lands long before the orcs. The shamans were able to learn their language and summon them to battle. Only a few Rocs can mature to become Thunderbirds.

7.Cyklop- Chief Cyklop
The cyklops are an old ally of the orcs. Their strength is the most brutal on all the steppes. However their movement is very low. The Chief Cyklops can throw enormous boulders on the enemy hordes and cause large area damage.

The Orc hero ride a Sabertooth. The class name is barbarian and it's the most magical inexperienced class in the game.

look like most of us have pretty similar vision of the orc town
here is mine

1) goblin
2) wolf
3) orc
4) ogre
5) troll
6) cyclop
7) behemoth

i dont care for upgrades, wolf can be upgraded to wolfrider and ogre to ogremagi and that make some sense to me,all other creatures are fine without the upgrades...

roc fits better into academy town, imho, since its from arabic mithology and academy is now desert faction,so no flayer for orcs

Orcs have to throw axes... and seeing how the wolf is a neutral Centaurs are the best replacement.

They do not have to throw axes. They could, of course, but they don't have to.

These are not the pig-orcs you're looking for.

If i can't get pig-orcs the least they could do is give them axes.
