That's fantastic news — if we don't get the original developers, at least we get the original composers. That alone is reason enough for me to buy the game ;)

Apart from that, I just hope that by "very emotional" Rob doesn't mean "melancholic", as some of the Heroes IV tracks were too melancholic in my opinion (especially those Irish sounding adventure themes).

We already knew it but it's great to read it from Rob itself. I hope they come back to a more similar H2 and 3 style, with atmospherical songs in the adventure map and the most powerful and melodic pieces in town. I can't wait to heare their work.

What does it mean by "a cut above the previous scores!" ... Heroes IV or all the previous titles ?

I'd say all the previous titles; but does it really matter?

No Irish stuff this time around.......Being that the H5 World is 3D, we all agreed that a more cinematic feel be approached.

That's good news indeed! I hope the music in Heroes 5 will, at least, have something similar with music of Heroes 3.

I think the "Irish music" in heroes 4 was very emotional and nice. I think melancholic music gives more soul to the game. Keep up the good work Rob King!

Don't know what you mean exactly by Irish music in H4, but if you talk about the bagpipe song in grass terrain I consider it one of the best in the game. I prefer however that kind of more powerful music for towns.

Well, generally, I like Irish music myself — however, I don't think it's the right kind of music for a strategy game like Heroes (it's just too emotional and distracting). Personally, I prefer the more idyllic adventure themes of Heroes 1 to 3.

Powerful music is great though — especially in combat —, but it should be uplifting rather than melancholic.

All I hope is that the music of the townscreens catch the feel of a town. I realy liked the music of Inferno, Necropolis and Fortress in heroes III. That realy made the atmosphere of the town come to life.

I did prefer the music from Heroes II and III more to IV. II had a very medieval soundtrack, while III had a more mature, formal collection of songs. IV had okay music, but I actually like the field music better than anything else in that game. But I'm definitely relieved that Rob King's role in the next game has been confirmed!
