It does'nt list what files are missing. Win 7 feels I don't have a need to know.
I may go into Control Panel and switch from 64 to 32 bit in the display and see if that does anything.
Maybe it will. Maybe it won't. It does'nt work good enough for me now, so what could it hurt?

I understand. But what can you do when you install the 3DO H3 CD for the ninth time and it still says files are missing? C/user name/My Documents/3DO/H3 Complete. Files Are Missing. What can be done from this point, first of all. :) And it's not a bad CD. In fact I have 2 3DO CD's and both show miss...

And how is that done? Don't you have to have an XP CD or something?

I guess my days of playing H3 are over. I never thought I would ever say that to be honest. Nothing I've tried works at all. H1, H2, H4 and Civ III play better on Win 7 than on XP. But H3/WoG does not work at all. It's the only game I have that does not work on Win 7. The 32 bit patch for h3 screws ...

Okay. My pointer kept freezing from time to time. So, I decided to start from scratch. I deleted everything asociated with H3/WoG. I even removed everything in a registry cleanup too. I installed again for the ninth time. I'm playing H3 Complete ONLY with the CD for now. I no longer get pointer free...

Did you replace script68? If you did, and put the new battlefields in the data/s folder, it will work. Make sure the battlefields are not in a serarate folder in the 's' folder.

So far, I've switched EVERYTHING into 98/ME instead of just the few that I had checked. It plays better, but could be improved. After reading the posted site above I see I better get DirectX 9 installed. Also I will put in GrayFaces' 32 bit patch and see what happens from there.

I'm using Home Premium 64 bit system. Compatability in Win 7 is a joke, really. Does'nt change anything. It still crashes no matter what compatibility you choose. What is Creative ALchemy? Never heard of it. If it helps to eliminate crashes, you bet I'll try it. I even copied the HoMM3 Complete/WoG ...

After further analysis, putting H3 in My Documents is no better! My game still crashes! Windows 7 sucks big time!

I checked the Woglogs and EAX popped up and certain locations could'nt be found. What's the right way to correct these problems?

I'll gather a few more H2 maps soon to place up on the H2 Map page, and when I do, UHO's map will be one of them! :D

It's hard to say. At first I liked Win 7, but the more I use it and tell Jim Vogan what's happening (He's stuck with Vista), the more it sounds like old Vista only under a different name.

Yeah that is strange because you would think by changing the texts in the lod files, you'd think the computer would read it the way you want it to. I guess some texts can't be edited then. Bummer

Extract your Phoenix from bitmaplod, rename it the same as the WoG one is, replace, and there you go. You can replace any pcx/bmp you want. It's just too easy anymore. :) Same with the opening WoG music. If you want the original music, make a copy of the original, rename the copied file with the WoG...

I've never dealt with something like that. Is it possible they could be recognized in just the h3/data folder? I see that a lot of the Mods offered by many of the developers have placed .wav files in just the H3/data folder. It's all I can think of for now.

Moving the folder did'nt work for me. The path still goes to C/ program files x86/ H3 and you'll still experience the problems you had before. Do a clean install to My Documents. Reccommended.

I found I had the same problem. Evidently Microsoft did nothing to improve playability for Heroes. LAME!!!! Jim Vogan turned me on to this method instead: Install HoMM 3 and WoG in 'My Documents.' And by God that did the trick! All my files installed there unlike in the Win 7 OS Program Files x86. W...
