As far as I know, only the russian version, distributed by Nival, is without any third party copy protection.

If you can run other Source games, you should be able to run this one.

They can not seperate Dark Messiah from steam because Source engine's multiplayer function uses Steam.

Interesting, the page says that the game is rated for 12+ years old players, but the preliminary packaging image shows an 18+ label.

There is also textures for trees covered in snow.

By the way, the "new universe" was invented by Ubisoft not Nival, and the storywriters are probably french too.

I do not think they will lover the requirements. They would have to decrease visual quality of the game if they decided to do that.

3DO used binary patcher that replaced only parts of files, that required update.

It is Source game, you would have to put extra effort to make it look bad.
