Re: Fortress Lineup
Do the lemmings have a "walk into abyss" specialty? Or will they behave on the battlefield like in the legendary Lemmings game? I'd like Worms with bazookas in inferno to balance them! EDIT. Uh, it upgrades to Lemming Pathfinder? Means that upgraded units do not walk anymore randomly into ...

Re: H2 Aurora Borealis
It is a difficult map indeed. I would choose the traveller boots as starting bonus. The game generates autosaves after each campaign map, so there should be no need to replay the previous map. Just load POL_4 or POL_5 savegame. How to do it? First hire a spellcaster. Sorcerer or wizard preferably, g...

Re: Tolberti and solo druid
unfortunately tolberti is immune to paralyze... and all light and dark spells for that matter Crap. I see a need to replay the thing to not totally forget everything. Anyway some more probably useless thoughts. How about slow? A vague memory that although he often resisted, there was a way to slow ...

Re: Tolberti and solo druid
Done it with lvl1 solo warlock, but of course i do not remember how. Perhaps a wand or scrolls of paralysis (although those are not common either)?

Re: MM7 Walls of Mist Question
It has been long, and my memory may fail me, but you cannot collect the keys separately and they reset. However, you can recast and even sleep inside the wall in certain locations. In evil quests you did not have to spare anyone. With jars the problem was that you may mess up jars in wall of mist an...

Re: Patch 1.3 Coming
I think this is partly due to the fact that patching after release has become generally accepted as a method; that it's OK not to release a finished product because everybody knows about patches. Generals may accept whatever they want, but I am not a general and I am not gonna accept or play the ga...

Re: Taking lessons from Heroes 3
OK, here are also a few lessons on what not to do from Heroes 3: 1) overly random hero stats . ... 2) overly random offering of skills . . I would not think they are overly random, or it would happen every second time that the hero build ends totally different than initially planned. There already ...

Beside the ultrasecret cow level, it is very difficult to miss a playable map in H2 campaigns. :p

Re: Stuck on Heroes III Lone Knight map by Hans C.
I understand you already got on water? Your aim is then to explore areas behind white borders first. Also light blue key may be helpful to invade enemies via their backdoors. And do not be afraid of losing ground. Perhaps try not to lose two starting towns, but all other towns will most likely be re...

Re: A Hidden Battle in Game Deveopment Today?
Man, once again you are in a philosophical mood I see. Anyway, nice read. First, the always online and auto-patching etc are annoying even if they do not mess the SP game up. For instance for me any program that is not required for computer to run but nevertheless installs itself into autorun is kin...

Re: HOMM...Anime???
I am not a great fan of anime either, although this Ylaya looks kind of stylish. It could be that in my eyes anime is a way to mock the overdone "seriousness" that Ubi has tried to put into homm characters.

Re: Map Editor
I'm hoping it's like H4 - that shortcomings in the game can be countered by skilled mapmakers. :) There are people who consider H4 the most unique and refreshing among homms and these people make effort to soothe the game shortcomings by skilled mapmaking. I doubt that H7 has half the revolutionari...

Re: Map Editor
picture of the day. Indeed the news from editor and modding are once again encouraging. I did not get whether the modifications are only map based or can also be global or at least easily transferred between maps. Most likely even if not intended, someone will find a way to make also global changes....

Re: The Damage is Already Done
I probably would not notice 15% price change, because I am ill-informed about the prices anyway. I play and buy very few games, and usually when they have been already out for a while and all information is indicating that I'll like the game. Once such decision is made 15% change in price does not m...

Looks promising. Seems that they allow quite a lot of freedom for user, while providing simple user interface for most common and certain complex operations. Of course one cannot judge editor by several screenshots and has to try it by himself. Nevertheless this article is one of the MMHVII news tha...

Speaking of which, I have to believe they gave us a beta with minimal AI enabled. I just have to, because if not there is not much future in the game. The enemy heroes always built wide, rather than deep which makes for much weaker heroes, they never pick up loose resources, chests, or artifacts an...
