Re: MM7 Learning Master

It doesn't count temporary boosts when checking the intellect requirement. Use Items (not considered a temporary boost)/Barrels/Black Potions to raise your intellect to the required number.

Perhaps even more impressive than the mod itself is the post-launch support you're giving it.

Thank you for your work.

Re: MM7 -- Revised Opinion On GM Body Magic

i dont really think you can avoid effect that happens generally on every other turn by just some resistance boosting. That was the point of the test game; to see whether it made a difference. It did; it went from every other turn to every 7-10 turns. Still even if so, it just makes game more diffic...

It depends on the effect; the link to Grayface's page explains what resistances you want vs. which effects.

Re: MM7 -- Revised Opinion On GM Body Magic

@Tress: That's what I used to think, too. But sufficiently high levels of Body Magic (Body Resistance) lower the chances of getting instakilled to the point where you can keep up with it if you play carefully (i.e. don't take on three Blood Titans at once). I still had people getting killed, but my ...

Re: MM7 -- Revised Opinion On GM Body Magic

According to GrayFace's mechanics page, https://sites.google.com/site/sergroj/mm/mechanics, Poison/Dead/Eradicated are resisted by Body Resistance. This was borne out by my playthrough, but it's not Master Level Protection From Magic you want: it's Master Level Body Resistance for the 3xBody Magic S...

MM7 -- Revised Opinion On GM Body Magic

I used to think GM Body Magic was vital for fighting late-game creatures (most notably Blood Titans). Having looked at Grayface's mechanics page, though, I decided to try a playthrough where I kill everything -- including all the creatures on the landscape in the Land of the Titans -- without GM Bod...

Well, that explains why that spell never seemed as great in-game as it did on paper . . .

Re: I just bought MM8 from GOG - any advice?

If you're worried about making MM8 too easy, I also recommend not using Cauri Blackthorne. Getting a L50 Dark Elf as early as that makes many portions of the game trivial.

It was also one of the first games where I learned to exploit -- using a Sacred Nut when you had your max of 9 would allow you to get 3 more for a total of 11. :)

My biggest problem with the game was trying to figure which town was actually "Medi's Town" so I could follow the directions to the hidden monuments. :)

I see. If that's the definition you're working with, what you say makes sense; it amounts to "the brain, like the rest of the body, tends to deteriorate with age."

Re: MM7 2 member party

This is why rogues are so potent in late game, because dmg boost+ reduced recovery rate makes them killing machines. I really wonder why people insist rogue is weak class in late game, they hit as hard as knights. I don't call Rogues weak, but the difference between them and Knights is durability. ...

It's something I learned with the Civ series -- there are people out there who actually *enjoy* excruciating detail and planning their games out on spreadsheets.

I don't count myself among their number, but I can accept their existence. :)

Re: MM6 vs. MM7 vs. MM8: My review (May Contain Spoilers)

I agree that plain size doesn't mean anything, but MM6 wasn't like that. The dungeons were much more rich and unique. On the contrary, MM7's huge dungeons were redundant. They weren't as unique, they just felt like big spaces with a lot of enemies. Especially the tunnels feels exactly like that. Th...

Re: MM6 vs. MM7 vs. MM8: My review (May Contain Spoilers)

I would note that size does not automatically equal a positive for me. MM6 is big, it's true -- but the size of many of its dungeons gets in the way of the game, for me. Once you've established your ability to clear a room of monster X, having to clear out another 500 rooms of the same is somewhat d...
