Is it just me? or the AI is way too strong in campaign?

On Sylvan 2nd map at normal difficulty. Starting at an island w/o town. at week 6, enemy hero show up, level 14, all his unit can cross entire battle field in one turn. He also has 400 level 1 shooter, hundreds of other unit. It's simply hopeless. I am giving up this game after 2 hrs, for now. I am ...

Re: A big warning for people using crossfire setup for H7

Thanks for the reply. I myself played a few UE games before. It really doesn't bother me the crossfire is not supported, since one GPU is more than enough. The real trouble is that the game right now is using 2nd GPU 100% by default. This causes the card to overheat easily. Even if the game doesn't ...

A big warning for people using crossfire setup for H7

Apparently the game doesn't support crossfire (I am unsure about SLI, perhaps somebody can try out). Crossfire setup has near zero scaling. Not only that, enabling crossfire cause 2nd GPU to be near 100% constantly, consume more energy, and place enormous thermal stress on the card. In my example, m...

Re: The Beta: Impressions

Okay. I think I am mostly done with testing.

Here is my biggest complaint:

The enemy turns are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long. on a 4 players game, I am spending 60+% of time waiting. I can't imagine what it feels like on a 8 player map.

This is simply crazy.

Re: The Beta: Impressions

So I played one large map with all 4 factions, rotate each faction one for a week, then repeat, now I am in week 4. Here are some observations, may not be precise, but probably meaningful: 1. Some factions have heroes more powerful than others. Dungeon has a hero that does 40 damage at the beginning...

Re: The Beta: Impressions

I wonder why the system is so inefficient. Most modern games let you customize settings so that people with older computers can just tweak down their settings and still play. Does anyone reading or contributing on this thread have a system that is exactly right at the MINIMUM requirements? How does...

Re: The Beta: Impressions

I think I figured some problems out. If the game crashes at start, it may be fixed by "verify game integrity", this option is available in Uplay OR steam. The game fps drops during other player's turn, this mostly occur on large maps. With these problem aside, here are my impressions: 1. G...

Re: The Beta: Impressions

Some major problems: 1. crash non-stop, I installed it and played for a few hours yesterday and everything seems fine. This morning, the game would not load and kept crashing. 2. extremely low FPS during other players' turn. It go from 80 in normal game to 10 when i hit "end the turn". 3. ...

I do love they bring back camera rotation, not as good as HoMM V (mice event), but still better than HoMM 6.

My 860M and 7950 handles the game well, but I didn't play long enough to notice memory leak problem so far.

Heroes VII Q&A 2

If I can't run it, I won't buy it. Simple as that. I have 860M+i7-4710 Asus ROG and desktop with AMD AThlon iix4 640+7950. I spent quite a bit for these things and not about to spend another 2k for one game. The absurd chasing of highest graphic is destroying sales of HoMM series. They need to serio...

It's quite obvious the camera angle can be flexible, make it available for players! H5 is so much better with free camera.

rotating camera please!

With gorgeous 3D engine, it is such a disappointment that players can't control the camera angle. H5 is a vast superior experience than H6 for me, mainly for the free camera and Uplay-free packaging. I know Ubisoft will not relent on Uplay, but at least allow free camera. Its already in great 3D eng...

I always find Nature faction's music beautiful. Rampart, Preserve, Sylvan, Sanctuary have all been great. In H5 and H6, they are so much better than other factions' IMHO.

For H7, it seems so far, all three factions theme are as good as each other, so the parity returns after H3.

Notice a good thing: you don't need to learn any skill from a certain house/shop/person, etc. Just pull up skill book and put a point onto that skill, its learned automatically. The tile based movement is slowly growing on me, I just don't know if there is enough old school players who will tolerate...

There is no walking NPC, everybody is standing at a location.

The tile based movement/turning really sucks, this is 2013, making a game without continuous movement/turning is not a great idea. I am unsure what kind of players the team is trying to capture, those who played MM before 1998?

A Bridge Too Far

I am on first map of Aton's task, the bridge stretches the battlefield. Never seen the broken field though.
