Voted Xarfax. The fireball spell sure needs some boosting, so why not vote for a guy whose specialty it is. Speaking of boosting the spell's effectiviness, does magog's fireball attack also gain additional bonus when Xarfax leads them on the battlefield? Or is the fireball attack based on some other...

I voted for the awe-inspiring Chaos Hydra, native to the Tatalian swamplands. This top-level Heroes III creature has a nice specialty, no enemy retaliation. When you teleport the monster into the advancing enemy formation, it's a total carnage! Five heads striking all adjacent enemy units is a reall...

Forum "Anniversary" Coming Up
The Mayan grand cosmic calendar ends its longest cycle in the winter solastice, 2012 ( translated to our calendar, of course) Although it may sound suspicious that a non-European culture living its high times in the 8th and 9th centuries AD would make a prophecy about the world's end in our times, y...

Most of my experience of peasants comes from Heroes III so I voted them. They are neutrals, not associated with any town which is an advantage of a sort. (assuming there are peasant dwellings on the adventure map) you can freely use them to serve whatever purpose you could imagine: act as easily rep...

As much as I find the secondary skill called Learning to be underpowered, I still voted for Loynis as the top of the Clerics. Prayer specialist is always nice, always handy. Tell you this: this Hero has lead many times my humble starting army to victory against more powerful enemy. Prayer's effectiv...

Christian the frontiersman, he's my number one guy. Getting near to the end of the scenario, his powerful Ballista could quite well deal 250-350 points of damage to enemy units per single shot. Double the amount for shots per turn and you can understand why the enemy is really facing a nasty opponen...

@UndeadHalfOrc As one of the people who voted for Logistics as the best secondary skill in Heroes III, my humble opinion is that the skill is superb but it also has the potential of being slightly too strong. When reading the comment above, some people might have laughed and then added with a wry sm...

@Muszka I discussed things with UHO about 7 weeks ago. First I volunteered to help him with the project, perhaps do some testing and come up with suggestions how to improve various sections of the map. Then he told me that he's busy with other projects but he said there's no objection on his part if...

On sales ..
@Meandor I beg to differ. I believe that it's unjustified to claim that the majority of HoMM fans think that it is stupid to actually pay for a game. That is at best a partial truth. The way I see it is that the issue revolves around buying over-priced games. But the tables are turned when you value...
