Yes, it's good to remember that both HOMM IV and V shipped in a conspicuously unfinished state. But I still don't see what you're basing on to say that HOMM IV's AI could've been the best of the series. Do check, if you haven't already, the post Elvin links to. It's entirely consistent with my exper...

I still maintain that neutral stacks were at most just a part of the problem. Here's a test that could be enlightening, if anyone feels up to the task. Create a map with the editor with no neutral stacks. You'll see that the computer acts braindead nevertheless. And again I refer you to the example ...

Jolly Joker, please drop the act. It's cute but tiresome. There's no way in hell that a sentient being could call HOMM IV's AI anything but awful. It was terrible. Disgraceful. It stank worse than a dead woodchuck under your porch after a month. Even more so after the ton of undeniable fun and chall...

I also think that the 3D visuals is one of the two points where HOMMV excels - the other one being the music. However the glory and the freedom that the new perspective provides is rendered a bit moot when you have to be careful not to zoom out or tilt the camera too much due to the HORRENDOUS engin...

***** I'm surprised there are people who still take what Jolly Joker says seriously. The guy has always made a fool of himself, ever since I first saw him back in the day when he was praising the braindead HOMM 4 AI to high heavens on the 3DO boards. His job -literally- is to circle-strafe arguments...

Nival Answers: Part Trois

"That entire statement is based on two assumptions: 1) That everybody is always going to want to go for the ultimate ability in every game; and 2) That a hero who has chosen skills based on effectiveness rather than on a path to the ultimate ability is going to be crippled for the duration of t...

Yes, I mean one post updated constantly. That way is easy to have a laundry list without reading through pages of posts. :hoo:

Hi stefan, which AMD is that? There are many people -me included- who have better vidcards but get noticeably bad performance. If you could just do this test http://forums.ubi.com/groupee/forums/a/tpc/f/1851065692/m/2841042644 and post your results in the thread referenced I would greatly appreciate...

Yes, the artifacts are probably a result of retexturing but they go away. Mostly I was aiming at a very significant drop in frames which hampers playability even in powerful systems and isn´t affected by changing the settings.

Thanks for rechecking!

Attention all Athlon users

We're trying to isolate the low framerate problem and now we're targeting the processors. If you have an Athlon please visit this thread: http://forums.ubi.com/groupee/forums/a/tpc/f/7811096804/m/8341002644 and tell us what your specs are and how the game is performing under this simple test: Open t...

You know what, I'd like to see one stickied single big post with every single bug listed. I think that would be useful both to us and the devs and would prevent repetition.

I'd do it myself if I had a little more time...

After seeing a friend run HOMMV on an Athlon 64 3000+, 512 RAM and a 9800Radeon Pro and watch unplayable framerates (below 5 FPS) when looking at certain cardinal points in some maps, I think the game may simply not be optimized for AMD. I´m going out on a limb but there´s simply no explanation for ...
