Most extreme case of AI cheating ever...

I had a poweful AI hero locked behind a teleporter guarded by 32 Azure Dragons. The idea would be that he would come busting through the gate with a huge Inferno army sometime in the 6-7th month and run wild on the main map as a new threat. Now I know the AI doesn't even use autocombat in its battle...

Usually they give themselves away pretty easily; they tend to be new posters,

they tend to be hit-and-run (rarely follow-up on and answer replies), and

the posts usually are nothing more than "Hey! Try out this cool new game!"

After 3 patches, what is the verdict?

I've resisted buying the game up to now (partly because of other interests,
and partly because of my experience with buying H4 the day of release),
so what is the state of the game as currently patched? A worthy successor
of the Heroes name, or a disappointment, or something in between?

One more thing I wanted to mention: if the Fire Shield increase holds true for
Efreet Sultans, then they will be probably THE kick-butt 6th level troop-hand-
to-hand combat with these guys will be very dangerous.

I think Sorrow and Mirth could both benefit from -3/+3 respectively (same for Fortune/Misfortune). Consider that the official _calculated_ maxima/ minima are +/- 3 to begin with, and that people are often hauling stuff around which makes thier luck/morale even higher than +3, and maybe I'll cast Sor...

There's always people complaining no matter how things are done.... I think having only 2 choosable initial factions for your campaigns AND only 6 stand-alone maps AND on top of that no map editor to make new maps are extremely valid reasons to complain. I'm glad my expectations are so low for this...

Well, as has been discussed before many people play without Fly and DD, which makes Air much less appealing. I am definitely in the strategy camp-I dislike drawn out boring stories, esp.
those which are very linear, prefer 8 player XL with severely beefed up AI

I voted Dungeon: you have an Artie Merchant and the Mana Vortex, and
the +1000 Experience thing, which is good when you hire L1 secondary
heroes. Tho in long games the Treasury is hard to beat, but there isn't
another special building out there worse than the Mystic Pond...
