Master of Curses : I was always of the opinion if they reached you, you did something wrong, but particularly for late battles it is amazing. Empathy : It didn't seem like much at first, but particularly when you get into a mass slow vs mass haste fight with the other hero, this helps immensely. Wa...

You are hijacking the topic, but to answer: The easiest way to do this is just to cast a lot of dragon breath from a distance since the dragons start grouped up and away from anything else. Other than the big dragon which has 5k hp, the others should drop pretty fast if you have roughly lvl 20 dark ...

You are probably in the wrong thread for this, but after doing a quick search on TELP.org I found...(answers in white due to spoiler) Question: ...I can't find the map giver anywhere. I have 6 scrolls (these are all, right?) I've even checked by the bandits from the lack of better choice. It obvious...

When it lands is simple. Simply follow the ATB bar until you see where the next instance of the griffin is. It will drop down at that point in time. This should have been documented better in the game. Of course as I recall, it gets wiped off once it jumps in the air, but if you check before you ini...

Haven's specialty is having high defense troops (the problem is this usually means low damage which isn't good in a campaign). If you want all the tiers to be good, you seem more like a Necropolis player (campaign 3). All their tiers are good except the 2nd (zombies). The point of the campaign is to...

Particularly in the campaign, archers and paladins are your major damage dealers. I usually don't even bother with most of the other units unless I have spare cash. In order to reduce casualties, you should aim for the Resurrection spell (Level 5 light), which allows you to lose units and then have ...

What you have about the units for haven sounds about right. Squires are meat shields, meant to take hits while your archers/hero/ballista deal damage. Priests are fairly weak ranged units with a lot of hp, although the upgraded version can cast spell buffs. Peasants are weak units only good for very...

By the way, you might want to check out the skill wheel if you don't have it, which has all the various paths to get skills. I believe it is shipped under the "Fan Documents" in your HoMM5 folder.
If you don't, take a look here.

That is a pretty strong build, and you should do fine. You don't need to use Godric at any time in this campaign, some people do, but it is usually after Isabel knocks the first wave back herself. I like war machines for haven campaigns, especially after you get the ballista skill as it is free dama...

Here is the main walkthrough page for all H5 maps: http://www.celestialheavens.com/viewpage.php?id=119 Looking at this particular mission though, there isn't much on this particular battle (and it's been a while since I did this map). As I recall it's a pretty straightforward fight as long as you ha...

One of the arguments presented in favor of the Sorceror is their superior spell points, but Druids have the better meditation skill. I agree with you there, but there really isn't a huge difference late because a druid simply shouldn't be running out of mana (and the only reason a sorcerer would is...

I agree with most of those, but my personal choices are Light: KKCS (felt like the best damage combo for light) or KPCS 3 paralyze/destroy undead is helpful in clearing most of the pit out while not being completely squishy against the ancient behemoth in the tunnels to Eeofol. On top of that the ex...

There's a trident in MM7, Charele, that does a ton of damage as its only boost 3D9+18. Dual wielding this with Wallace (3d4+12, 10 Armsmaster, 40 Personality) is the most damage you can get, I believe (well aside from min recovery blasters/bows of course). This is especially true as a knight will li...

Unlike the previous 2 games, monsters hit much harder. I love heavy casters in MM6 and MM7, but in MM8 things like fire/earth elementals deal so much damage that your characters are often unconscious (and it's even worse if you don't have Preservation on). 3 Knights, a Cleric, and a Necromancer seem...

I suggest playing the Crag Hack campaign, brilliant campaign, but either the 1st or 2nd most challenging campaign out of the initial 4 (cause Gem is a useless hero). I agree Gem is useless but Crag Hack's campaign was pretty easy. Yog not being able to cast any spells while getting caster level ups...

Finished this game a few months ago (before the walkthroughs came out). It was amazing, full new story, difficulty turned up, all sorts of new monsters and skins, and no rampant abuse of Fly until pretty late made a huge difference in the overall gameplay. It utilized all sorts of areas that weren't...
