Is it only a single fan that is causing the noise?
If so, is it a casefan or heatsinkfan?

Is it loud as soon as you turn the game on, or does it come after some time?
Is the fan going full speed all the time while HeroesIV is on - and does it stop when you exit the game?

Some Conflux heroes start out with Earth magic. I don't think anyone specializes in it though.

In most cases I use two heroes in each army I have. They will be from my allignment in order to avoid morale penalty. It will typical be one might and one magic hero. The magic hero will get some Combat though for survival. When playing Haven, the might hero will also get basic Life magic for healing.

You were moving too slow. You have to restart the scenario, but you've probably already figured that much

The key to win this scenario is speed, so your enemies won't get those insane armies. It's been quite some time, since I've played it myself, so I can't remember more specific things though.

You did mean the week 1 rush, right?
wyverns or rocs in week 2 isn't really a rush... by the end of the week, you should have behemoths/hydras on most random maps.

In general you should never use different types of RAM at the same time. When using more modules, they should always have the same latency and speed.
